#63 | The Exodus: How Satan, Abraham, Moses, Pharoah, and Jesus are connected, and why it matters OneLife Nashville: Rare but vital conversations about Jesus

    • Christianity

In this episode we transition out of Genesis into the story of the Exodus. We talk about how Exodus fits into the story of Genesis, specifically, how the conflict between the seed of the serpent and the seed of woman are exemplified in the conflict between Pharaohs enslavement of the Israelites, and ultimately his attempt to kill off the promised seed of Abraham. This pattern of the seed of the serpent looking to kill the seed of Abraham is a consistent theme throughout the Bible, and is what accounts for the various patterns we see of people in the Bible having similar epxereinces with the seed of the serpent.

One of the patterns we notice is how the seed of the serpent tried to kill both the Israelites and Jesus before they could grow up and fulfill their destiny, and in both instances failed to do so.

Key Passages:

Exodus 1:1-2:10

Matthew 2:1-18
