7. Isaiah's Answer: A Son of David Sermons from McLean Presbyterian Church

Isaiah 9:1-7
Welcome the King | Advent 2022: Writing 600 years before Christ, Isaiah anticipated the time when “the people who walked in darkness” would see “a great light” (Isaiah 9:2). He looked forward to the arrival of the true King, who would reign on the throne of King David “with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore” (9:7).

Who is this King? Who did Isaiah say he would be? He tells us in Isaiah 9:6: This child will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Together, we will explore each one of these glorious titles for Jesus each Sunday in Advent.
