75) What Makes a Winning App Launch

Zen Business - Mindfulness, Hustle and Fulfillment

This episode of the Zen Business podcast could be your ticket to a huge number of high-quality, low-cost downloads if you’re ready to launch or relaunch your business’ killer app in 2024

In today’s episode, Jonathan Maxim breaks down the elements that all successful app launches have in common.

This isn’t textbook theory or guesswork. It’s based on 23 launches that Maxim led in 2023. There were 18 winners and 5 losers. But what made the winning app launches successfully profitable for their businesses, and what made the losing launches fail, was not random or haphazard.

Winning campaigns that hit their goals & rocketed to 10,000+ downloads at a profitable cost-per-download all followed similar patterns & shared common characteristics. The campaigns that did not succeed also failed in all the same ways.

For example, and we found this really interesting— Most of the winning app launches had an offer that was just good (not mind-blowing, disruptive, or super great). In fact, some of the apps with a really great offer did not perform as well at launch. Jonathan explains why in the pod.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to tell if you have enough budget runway for your app launch, how to follow a clear and consistent launch strategy, and how to make sure your product has the magic in it with analytics to see what users are doing on your app.
