8. Food Has No Calories: Nutritional Biochemistry Revealed The Joy-Filled Eater Podcast | Food Freedom and Body Image Support for Christian Women

    • Christianity

How much time in a given week do you spend counting calories or recording what you eat in a calorie tracking app?  Would you rather be doing something more enjoyable and life-giving during that time instead?  My guess is, most of us would.  And yet, if you feel an obligation to know all the numbers, calorie tracking can feel like an obligation you’ll never be free to let go.

But God.

In His infinite wisdom, God designed your body and your biochemistry in such a way that it doesn’t use calories for anything in your body.  He knew that one day, our culture would warp the ideas behind his creation of all kinds of foods that would lead so many to fear it.

That’s why in today’s episode, you’re getting a mini nutritional biochem lesson that the diet industry is DYING to keep from you in an attempt to make you feel like monitoring calories should be your top priority.

A few things you can expect to hear in this episode are:

How control often plays into the need/desire to count calories (and why that’s so ironic)
The college class that most inspired today’s episode and why I love teaching
How your body uses the food you eat
What role calories play in metabolism and the MIND BLOWING truth that could set you free from those guilt-inducing food tracking apps
What you get back when you understand your body instead of fearing it
