A Dedicated Shopping Experience for Youth in Foster Care at The Twig Fostering Change

    • Non-Profit

In this week’s episode of Fostering Change,  Rob Scheer talks with Lindsey May, Program Coordinator at The Twig, & Nicole Britton, Director of Development at The Twig. They share the history of The Twig and how it remains a resource for children in foster care where their needs are met and provided with love and encouragement.
“Twig” stands for: “The Way to Inspire and Give.” Twig shops are located in Venice and Bradenton, Florida.  There are designated “shopping days” for youth in foster care.
Nicole Britton: Starting as a volunteer which turned into her role as the 1st full time paid employee of The Twig in 2017. “As a mom in a house full of kids including children in foster care the heart of The Twig’s mission is so important to me. I enjoy sharing with our community how everyone can make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.”
Lindsey May: A social Worker since 2009, Lindsey May has worked front line as a case manager, case manager supervisor and in program development for nonprofits focused on addressing the needs of children and families within the child welfare system. I am a strong advocate in all areas related to child welfare and believe in the importance of The Twig’s mission to encourage & inspire foster families.
