Excellent! The podcast completely enhances my viewing of the show. Ben is too hard on Lucienne!

After hearing various hosts speak about A French Village during Covid, I have finally started watching the tv show and listening to the podcast. The podcast provides historical context, especially from Benjamin Wittes. Not sure why the podcast, starting in Season 3 is so difficult to access—I suspect it’s a cost issue—but I sure wish the Bulwark would respond to Bulwark queries about this issue. I treasure Sarah Longwell’s creation of this podcast, and in 10 years when her kids are older, I’m sure she’ll respond to our social media comments. 💙🙏🏼🗳️

Wow! I have no idea where this has been hiding, but it popped up with the Bulwark podcasts I’ve been listening to for a while now. This show is it ew, but I’m hooked so far. Sorry to hear further seasons are on another streaming source. Ugh.

Anyway, it’s super great to hear you two, each with individual interpretations and views. I’m a huge fan of historical novels and TV and theater period dramas. I’m a sustainer on PBS where Masterpiece has a great selection of intelligent and character driven series like Annika (modern times), Call the Midwife (50s into 60s), Endeavor/Lewis/Morse (60s-20th century) and a very long list of quality viewing. My favorite streaming sources are BritBox and Acorn. Since this show is over, I’d love to recommend a couple of similar WWII dramas - Line of Demarcation which takes place in a German village that is divided by a new line drawn dividing Germany between the Americans/Allies and the Russians. Powerful and gripping. Then there is the serious, but quieter-on-the-surface Foyles War, a detective story set in SE England during the war. Micheal Kitchen is superb as a Detective Inspector in charge of crime solving in wartime. Binge worthy!

Now, back to A French Village! Thank you.

From a big Bulwark fan.
