DR. REBECCA WOULFE, "Punishment Free Childhood" (5-8-24)

DR. REBECCA WOULFE, "Punishment Free Childhood" (5-8-24)

REBECCA WOULFE, the author of the book, "The Gift of a Punishment-Free Childhood: A New Way to Parent for a New World", will join us for a lively discussion as to why her research in this area can work in your home!

    FROM HER BIO:

"Through extensive research and personal experience, Rebecca Woulfe has discovered the importance of raising children punishment-free. She has over 30 years of parenting experience having raised four daughters without using punishment to discipline. She has shared her expertise through parenting workshops and published a 'how to' book on the topic. In her book, The Gift of a Punishment-Free Childhood: A New Way to Parent for a New World, Rebecca provides evidence of how punishment not only negatively affects the parent-child relationship, but how it also has far-reaching negative consequences for our children, ourselves, and our society.

Additionally, her book provides parents with specific examples of how to discipline children and teach them to be good humans without resorting to punishment to control their behavior. She uses humor and a non-judgmental approach to support parents, grandparents, and anyone who engages with children on how to positively interact with children and teenagers. Rebecca empowers readers to trust their instincts, address each child's unique needs, and uncover solutions that work for each family. She provides practical guidance for each stage of development so whether you are parenting a toddler, tween, or teenager, you can apply Rebecca's techniques.

Rebecca brings an engaging and lively approach to conversations about parenting, relationships, and changing the punishment paradigm to make our world a better place. She does not shy away from controversy, recognizing there are those who think punishment is critical in raising children, and is enthusiastic about engaging in this debate."

"The Bible in Today's World" - "Is God Angry at America?", Part 5 - Ep.46

"The Bible in Today's World" - "Is God Angry at America?", Part 5 - Ep.46

Welcome to "The Bible in Today's World", the show that compares today's world with the Word of God.

In general and specifically, are we following the Bible in our daily walks? Is society demanding that we follow the Word of God in all that we do?

Does our Almighty Father look upon us and frequently say, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" - or is He thinking of us as He thought/thinks of Sodom and Gomorrah?

On today's show, we will explore, "Is God Angry at America?", Part 5.

We will also play Part 2 of my interview with CHASTITY DAWN.

CHASTITY DAWN, a Christian author from Georgia, will join us to discuss her latest release, "From the Wilderness to the Narrow Path: A Journey of Surrender and Course Correction Paperback".

    FROM HER BIO:

"Hello! My name is Chastity. I'm originally from the Midwest but now l live just outside of Atlanta, GA. My book, "From the Wilderness to the Narrow Path: A Journey of Surrender and Course Correction" is a story of how God got my attention, simplified my life, and showed me what it means to not conform to the pattern of this world, which included stepping away from organized religion. In addition to sharing my personal story, I include actionable steps that may help others on their journey.

Truthfully, my personal story doesn't involve overcoming anything that would be defined as extreme or extraordinary - it's just a real-life regular story that I believe others may relate to in some way or another. I share details from childhood through adulthood, multiple marriages, an affair, heartbreak, and ultimately surrender.

The journey to writing my book revved up when I asked God the question, "If you can't lie, why would you tell me to pray 'Thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven' if it seems that I can't really have it?'" He answered, and my book is the result of that answer.

When it comes to our spiritual journey, there are so many paths to explore and it can be confusing and overwhelming. Religion has turned people off with all of the corruption, deception and layers of issues running rampant in churches. I believe fully in God's Word (The Bible) but I do not call myself a Christian. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and live solely based on His instruction to "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness." Basically I am on a journey that involves continually stripping away all of the things we have been conditioned to believe about how we should live our lives, and I let the Holy Spirit lead. It's not for the fainthearted, but my life sure is a lot more simple.

I love to laugh, and although the subject matter is serious business, I'm human and navigating this world just like everyone else. Walking in full relationship with God doesn't mean you need to be religious with a holier than thou attitude. I learn more and more each day what it truly means to be in this world but not of it."

    Parenting 101 Plus - Episode 75

    Parenting 101 Plus - Episode 75

Join Paul W. Reeves, Ed.D - a longtime teacher and school principal, and the father of three children - and his guests, as they discuss the world of parenting your children, from birth through age 100! Also included are excerpts and discussions of Paul's parenting book, "A PRINCIPAL'S FAMILY PRINCIPLES - Raising Your Kids to Be Happy and Healthy, While Enjoying Them to the Fullest".

On today's show, in addition to reading the chapter, "Jennifer's Story" from his book, sharing wisdom from others, and a bit of humor, Paul played Part 1 of his interview with KA HANCOCK.

KA HANCOCK, a highly successful author from Utah - and a former psychiatric nurse - will join us to discuss her books, including "Dancing On Broken Glass" and "The Duzy House of Mourning", as well as her upcoming release, "Ivy In Stills".

    FROM HER WEBSITE:

"Ka Hancock is the author of the beloved novel DANCING ON BROKEN GLASS and newly released THE DUZY HOUSE OF MOURNING. Always intrigued by the human experience and how people navigate their unique challenges, Hancock began writing stories as a child, and never stopped. She discovered early that humanity is a tangled mystery, and that to understand our fellow travelers, and to thrive in difficult relationships, it helps to acknowledge truth, and then proceed accordingly. To support her writing habit, she became a nurse and settled in the realm of addiction and psychiatric medicine. She finds people-in all their complex and varied lifeforms-completely fascinating.

She lives in Utah with her husband. Her four children, who have multiplied at an impressive rate, keep her happily engaged with a whole new generation.

So, fun fact about me: I'm a messy writer and I like it that way. I'm super tidy everywhere else in my life, but my office is exactly how I like it. I don't like interruptions or noise, but I have a noisy hubs...who interrupts...a lot. Sigh. I love him.

Fun fact number two: I was ten when I wrote my first story. It was about a 4th grade substitute teacher I had while my beloved Mrs. Peeler went off and had a baby. (How could she!) I shocked myself with the degree of bottled up dislike I had for this poor guy, but in all fairness I can still, lo these many moons later, recall his effect on me. I wrote a story about him wherein he ended up dead. Dead! I know! What was wrong with me? And it filled me with such consuming turmoil that my pure little conscience could not take it. I'm not kidding, I could not erase fast enough. When I recovered, I gave the old meany a full-body rash and no fingernails which was infinitely easier to live with (for me, not him). But, oh the power! I was utterly addicted. At ten, I held life (and tormenting skin conditions) on the end of my trusty #2 pencil. I never looked back. I was a writer. A little twisted, obviously, but a writer.

Have you ever gone all in on something? Something that means the world to you, but not all that much to anyone else? It’s a tricky place to be—that jumping off place into whatever-happens-it’s-on-me. I’ve always found it much easier to hand responsibility to someone else, and blame them when it fails. At least where my books are concerned. That’s my comfort zone. My job was writing. It was definitely not the mechanics of publishing, marketing, hustling, and selling myself. I've been quite happy to leave that to agents and editors and publishers and publicists and live my life as the semi-introvert that I imagine myself to be. And that worked out fine until my great agent left for an unturndownable opportunity, and my amazing editor abruptly left Simon & Schuster and Simon & Schuster didn't know what to do with me because I had no editor.

Argul1 ,

Really fun podcast

I turned on this podcasting the back ground while I was cleaning yesterday. I basically cleaned the whole house before I even realized I was being so productive. The Dr Paul family talk segments are really great. Informative, interesting and with a fun sense of humor. The singing segments they have on their programs are hilarious and catchy (I definitely sang along) and I really felt that, as a mom, I could relate to the parenting conversations that he had with his guests. Love this. I highly recommend checking it out (especially if you have cleaning or laundry to do) it makes the time fly by
