Suffering is mentioned more than eighty times in the New Testament. We are told that the Lord Jesus “learned obedience by the things which he suffered.” How can we live each day in faith and find joy out of tribulation? A woman who knows suffering, Elisabeth Elliot asks the questions and seeks the answers. Let her share with you the path she has found.
Elisabeth Elliot has been one of America’s most admired Christian women for decades. She shares wisdom gleaned from her experiences as wife, mother, missionary, Bible translator, radio broadcaster, speaker, counselor, and bestselling author. For nearly thirteen years she ministered through her daily radio broadcast, “Gateway to Joy.” She now focuses on writing and speaking with help from her husband Lars Gren. Her books include Through the Gates of Splendor, A Path Through Suffering, and Quest for Love.

a beautiful, humble comfort during my suffering
Grateful for Mrs. Elliott's humble, truthful spirit, & utter dedication to Christ.
For many years I have gone to E E’s books and radio program for sound Christian teaching. She doesn’t mess around with fluff and gets to the heart of living a Christ centered & surrendered life. Always convicting and pressing her listener toward truth. I love her heart and soak up every word! So happy that I found these podcasts and I will continue to listen and read her materials probably all my life. She has definitely discipled me from afar and now she is receiving her reward for her lifetime of service to our King.
Precious precious spiritual mother.
Do The Next Thing
I would not know these wise words without learning of EE and her books and radio program way back in the early 80s when finally returning to the Lord. Her sound voice and strength of conviction in Jesus Christ have never left me and I am very happy to have found her “voice” once again in these podcasts. I hope there are many more episodes that I can turn to for reliable teaching of the Word.
