    Never Deny Someone Their Suffering

    Never Deny Someone Their Suffering

Often, as Byron Katie would point out, there are acts we do that we think are noble when in fact they are not. Denying someone their suffering seems like a noble action. But it's false. That may seem harsh, but in this episode I explore why this is actually the case. Natalie Kingston Interview (Cinematographer for Black Bird on Apple TV+)

Natalie Kingston (@nataliekingston) is a cinematographer, having worked on movies such as Lost Bayou, The Wolf Of Snow Hollow and Shapeless. Recently, she finished up shooting Black Bird for Apple TV+ which premieres July 8th. Black Bird is a crime drama limited series developed by Dennis Lehane, based on the 2010 autobiographical novel In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene. As part of the true story, Jimmy Keene is offered his freedom in exchange for coaxing a confession out of suspected serial killer Larry Hall and finding out where his victims are buried. Taron Egerton stars as James Keene, Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall, Greg Kinnear as Brian Miller, Sepideh Moafi as Lauren McCauley, and Ray Liotta as James "Big Jim" Keene. In our interview, Natalie and I discuss various aspects of the behind the scenes process of putting this story on film. So check out this episode and please share your thoughts down in the comment section or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. For more info on Natalie, visit her website, http://nataliekingston.com. How To Set Boundaries With People

How To Set Boundaries With People

In the self help world, you often hear the term boundaries and the importance of setting them. What's not talked about as often is HOW to set those boundaries. Often times, we state the problem to someone, expecting them to extract what the boundary is, but they can't. They are not mind readers. We have to communicate that boundary clearly to them. This episode gives you my best tip for doing just that.. So check out this episode and please share your thoughts down in the comment section or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. Here are my reasons, with as many details as I can point to. Because of that, be warned of spoilers if you haven't yet seen everything. But when you do, check out this episode and please share your thoughts down in the comment section or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. Good Things Happen When You Keep Momentum Going By Creating More

Good Things Happen When You Keep Momentum Going By Creating More

Successful artists, like Steven Pressfield and Stephen King, always advocate to aspiring creatives that they must maintain a daily routine in order to make great art. I want to explore this subject further and from different angles to highlight why continually creating benefits you. Plus, I discuss how matching your words to your actions extends to your overall life. So check out this episode and please share your thoughts down in the comment section or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. See Something Moving & Original? Say Something! Support Great Art

See Something Moving & Original? Say Something! Support Great Art

A constant complaint I hear, especially from entertainment sites, is Hollywood lacks originality. Whether true or not, I never understood why then they choose to report ONLY on Hollywood's art. If originality is the goal, as so they claim, there are so many wonderful films and TV shows out there if one looks. And if those sites won't cover them, then we as consumers must help get the word out about them. And yes it's possible. It's how movies like Parasite and Everything Everywhere All At Once became such hits. Because of how much audiences loved it, sites were forced to do more coverage on them. So if you see something that you like, say something! Support great art. So check out this episode and please share your thoughts down in the comment section or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. How does he keep coming up with new lessons each and every week??? I don’t know but the fact that he does is amazing because I learn so much from him. Thank you for all that you do. Highly recommend this series to anyone. Also, what’s great to see is Phil’s personal journey through all of this. He’s not just teaching me, he’s teaching himself and it shows. Keep it up.
