    Does Gear Matter For Photography?

    Does Gear Matter For Photography?

We all get told "Gear Doesn't Matter" - and it doesn't, most of the time. BUT sometimes it does. So when does gear matter? And why. The more professional you get, the better the gear you will need. BUT getting better gear does not make you more professional.

Photographing Twenty One Pilots Rehearsals and Show

Photographing Twenty One Pilots Rehearsals and Show

When I get the e-mail to go and photograph Twenty One Pilots because my good friend Brad Heaton was not available, I jump at it. Brad and I go way back, I am a huge fan of is. I always tell all my music photographer friends - if you need someone to come cover for you, leave a good impression, and not steal your job, I am the guy. I love helping my friends and feel honored when they hit me up. It means they trust me as much as I trust them, and what a nice relationship to have with another creative. Anyway, thank you Brad - and thank you to the band's visual everything, Mark Eschleman for working his ass off to get me out there.

My Favorite Person To Travel with (and photograph) Is Diplo

My Favorite Person To Travel with (and photograph) Is Diplo

My favorite person to travel with is Diplo. He truly does it in what I would consider being the best way to travel. The least time spent in transit, virtual no time spent in hotel rooms sleeping, paired with his authentic interest in culture and people. Everywhere he (we) go – he just wants to see what people from the area do, and how they live and experience it. I try my best to only tell my stories of being with an artist, and not to tell their stories. Sometimes it is hard with Wes because when I am with him – I do almost everything he does. But here goes.
