    • Personal Journals

Lily chats with Adrienne Chitayat - scientist, wildlife expert, and world traveler. Adrienne has been living in Africa on and off for several years to pursue scientific research. She first traveled to Kenya when she was 17 for a research project and continued her journey after college when she worked in South Africa and then in Rwanda for her Master’s Degree. For the past 3.5 years, Adrienne has been living in Tanzania working toward her PhD in Conservation Biology. Her research is primarily focused on chimpanzees and biodiversity in the Greater Mahale Ecosystem.
During this episode, Adrienne shares what she’s learned through her research and she also speaks about what it was like to be a female leader working with primarily men from a different culture and in a different language. Adrienne’s story not only serves as inspiration for women in science, it also proves that we can effectively communicate and work together across cultures.
