Are Tall Women ACTUALLY Insecure Or Are We Just ‘Playing the Victim’? | Why No One Takes Us Seriously

This episode is actually inspired by a few comments I’ve gotten on my socials over the past few weeks. If you don’t follow me on my socials (like how dare you lol jk jk), I typically post podcast clips and commentary style vids so essentially much of my content is more commentary style in regard to tall women in society and so forth. Meaning that I often talk about the struggles we face.  And there are two particular comments that stood out to me. One was under a TikTok video of me basically discussing how tall women aren’t viewed as feminine and we try to overcompensate by hyper-feminizing ourselves and essentially acting in a way that just isn’t natural to us. This person specifically commented that petite women are more feminine end of story and that I can’t reason my way out of this AND I shouldn’t try to convince men who don’t like tall women to like them. And I’m like this video isn’t even directed towards men nor did I even mention anything about a man lol. Chill out bruv.  In another post (I was discussing how we hyper-feminize ourselves because people call us/see us as masculine), someone commented with a picture of a fake credit card with “victim card” on top of it. And I’m like Oh?? Haha ok???? I’m noticing a pattern here: people tend to dismiss our struggles, experiences, and insecurities. Anyways, so this does raise the question: are tall women’s insecurities real? Why do people often dismiss them? I dive deeper into the answers in my podcast episode!  Buy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast  Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribe Let's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

The Fashion Industry Is Failing Tall Women | How Larson Will Change the Tall Girl Fashion Game ft. Camryn Larson

Today, we are joined by a special guest, the founder and owner of a new tall girl brand called Larson, Camryn Larson! Larson is all about bringing what we’re calling “timeless trendy” (yes, we coined this term during the episode lol) pieces to the tall girl community. Think of those cute outfit inspo photos you scroll past on Pinterest—Larson is making those a reality but designed ⭐specifically for tall women⭐. Because let’s be real: the fashion industry is failing us. Whether it’s brands that don’t even bother to make taller options or those that try and fail miserably, time and time again, we’re left disappointed. Camryn felt this frustration firsthand and decided to do something about it. Inspired by her college capstone project, she turned her vision into reality so tall women no longer have to settle for ill-fitting clothes or miss out on looking chic. But Larson is about more than just clothes—it’s about creating a space where tall women feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to embrace their height without apologies. Don’t miss this episode as we dive into her journey, discuss why the fashion industry is falling short, and explore how Larson is rewriting the rules for tall fashion! Will Tall Women Ever Be Seen As Feminine? | How Society Forces Us To Prove Our Femininity

Today, well last night honestly, was a very sad day for many of us lol. TikTok officially went black. It was supposed to go black on Sunday January 19, 2025 (when I’m recording this) but it left the premises literally the night before lol. We thought we had time to download everything that night but nope we don’t.  UPDATE: The app came back lol. The president-elect saved it. There are actually loads of problems with the app now though soooooo we’ll see how that goes :////  Anyways, onto today’s episode. Today we are talking about the masculine stereotype that tall women often face and how they try to overcompensate that by being hyperfeminine. Ok ok lol I know that was a lot to take in but I promise it’ll make more sense as we get more into the episode.  This was actually inspired by a Reddit post by a fellow tall girl. She claims that people have jokingly called her a man. She’s tall, yes, but she also has an androgynous style, likes gaming and cars, and so forth. Though those are just part of who she is, she’s felt the need to overcompensate with femininity. Sounds like something that happens to most of us, or at least to me for sure.  I’ve talked various times on this podcast about how tall women are often seen as masculine. Why? Because height = masculinity. The taller a person is, the more likely someone will see them as masculine. Nothing new here.  However, not all of us want to be perceived that way right? Because that does affect not only the way people treat us but also the people who choose to be around us, the people we attract. So some of us want to be perceived as feminine and feel the need to display hyperfeminine characteristics and behaviors. What do these behaviors and characteristics look like in tall women? People HATE When Tall Women Wear Heels | The REAL Reason It Triggers Them

It’s officially been about a week since I had a little “menty b,” lol. I won’t explain too much because I’ll likely update you on my socials and newsletter. But I am okay-er now. Just trying to keep going. I have a few exciting things like starting my new part-time job and working with a new client and so forth. It’s kinda hard to complain though when there are fires in California, high congestion pricing in NYC, and people losing their income because TikTok is being banned.  Speaking of which, yup, TikTok will likely be banned in a week. There was a hearing recently and TikTok basically said, we know we have to leave or sell to an American company and TikTok was like we’re just gonna leave. Soooooo it’s looking like they’re leaving the premises :////// So yeah! Make sure you follow me on Instagram and Pinterest until further notice lol.  Alright, today we are talking about tall girls and heels. You’re probably like why are we talking about this??? Listen, this goes deeper than just what we wear. It causes deep-rooted insecurities of not just being judged for what we wear but also insecurities surrounding being tall. Let’s get into it.  “You’re gonna be too tall.”  “You’re already tall; you don’t need to be taller.”  “Why do you even need to wear heels?”  These are just some of the comments that tall women receive if they want to or choose to wear heels.  But have you heard about the history of heels? They were actually meant for MEN. Yup, you read that correctly, heels were originally made for men. Tune in to the full episode for more on this and why people have issues with tall women wearing heels!  Support the podcast: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast  Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribe Let's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

'How Much Should Tall Girls Eat?' | Busting Tall Girl Health Misconceptions ft. Registered Dietitian Denvyr

***Just a little trigger warning, we do talk a little bit about weight in this episode. There is a tiny instance where one’s weight is compared to someone else’s. If this is uncomfortable for you, DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE. Your peace is way more important.  Today, we are joined by a very special guest; her name is Denvyr! She is a registered dietitian, former athlete, and certified tall girl! And while she works to help all women build their best bodies in the healthiest way possible for them, she also uses her knowledge to spread awareness about common misconceptions relating to the health and nutrition of tall women. Because let’s face it, we aren’t really educated on how to take care of our bodies. Or at least I wasn’t.  As a former athlete, she struggled with body image, especially because she was taller than all of the other girls around her. Between comparing herself to her teammates and seeing content from smaller fitness influencers on social media, she really wanted to shrink herself and her body leading to an unhealthy relationship with food. It wasn’t until after college and after being an athlete that she realized that she is more than her weight and height and needs to treat her body with the care it deserves. And now she strives to help other tall women do the same.  I will say with no bias that this was an extremely insightful episode. It has even helped me in a couple of ways regarding how I’m taking care of my tall body and I think it’ll be very helpful for any tall woman. Make sure you tune in!  Here are her deets:  Nutrition Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tallgirlnutritionist/  Personal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/denvyr/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nutritionbydenvyr  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@denvyr/videos  Support the podcast: https://buymeacoffee.com/atallgirlspodcast  Subscribe to A Tall Girl's Newsletter: https://atallgirlspodcast.beehiiv.com/subscribe Let's stay connected: https://beacons.ai/atallgirlspodcast Leave a review and let me know how tall you are: https://atallgirlspodcast.com/reviews

You're Pretty, You're Just Not Tall and Skinny | The Truth About The Tall Girl Influencer Space

This episode is quite literally based on a video on TikTok. However, I can’t insert a video here lol so in summary a tall, curvy/plus-sized creator was discussing how the tall girl influencer space is a mess because people only hype up tall skinny/thin influencers. Meanwhile, they don’t do that for the tall plus-sized folks OR people often fetishize these tall curvy creators.  But first, let’s introduce exactly what the tall girl influencer space is. It’s essentially a niche community of content creators on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube who represent and cater to tall women. They often share the joys, experiences, and struggles of being a tall girl as well as clothing tips/outfit inspo, dating, and how to navigate the world with confidence as a tall woman.  Now, this space is very very niche, but we’re often misrepresented or overlooked in mainstream media. Hence why, tall girl influencers/creators try to portray what it’s truly like to be a tall woman. However, not all of their content is about being tall, but most of it is.  Anyways, so what’s the deal with people only hyping up tall thin women? Are tall curvy/plus-sized women more likely to be criticized both online and offline? Tune in to the full episode for more! What’s the Obsession with Tall Women’s Weight? | Yet Another Way To S*xualize Tall Women :/

Huge thanks to Whitney Allysyn for sponsoring today’s episode! You’re probably like ‘girl this is a podcast about height???” Yeah, it is but it’ll make more sense as I go on. And just a quick disclaimer: I will be talking about weight in this episode. I will not be disclosing my weight; however, I will be mentioning numbers from an article relating to this as well as other people’s weights that they’ve made public online. If this is triggering for you, protect your peace and skip this episode.  Now, if you’re curious about this, let’s talk!  We’ve all heard growing up ‘Never ask someone how much they weigh.’ Because it’s rude right? But when it comes to tall women, it’s like this rule doesn’t apply. Not only are creepy strangers asking for our weight, but some tall women are voluntarily giving out this information. Why is this a thing? Are we normalizing this or feeding into some strange obsession with tall bodies?  To find out more, tune into the full episode!
