This little segment originally aired on KXFM 104.7 in Laguna Beach, California (kxfmradio.org) as part of A Teaspoon of Healing Radio Show. I took this part out to be a little stand-alone podcast segment for listeners of the podcast. Grounding is very important during times of stress and change, such as during a move, life change, career or job change, and during other times of stress. I present these tips from an energetic point of view. Along with being a dietitian, I am also a Reiki practitioner and approach many things in life from an energetic standpoint.

Energy is currency in our society today. It is very important to call back your energy as much as you need to, to feel calm and at peace. If you are starting something new, creating something, starting a business, publishing a book, or simply just want to feel more at peace, learn how to call back your energy.  Your energy is YOURS.     Overcoming Writer’s Anxiety and Self-Doubt

    Do you feel called to write, but find yourself held back by self-doubt or anxiety? Or are you a seasoned writer who is currently plagued by writer’s block? Well, you aren’t alone.    In this episode, I share practical tips for moving through writer’s anxiety and breaking the cycle of self-doubt that can keep stories stuck in your head. While this insight can help any writer, it is targeted specifically for those who are new to writing or returning to the craft after some time.   Alongside my work as a registered dietitian, I’m also a creative writer rediscovering storytelling after many years. I wrote quite a bit in my previous career in corporate communications, technical writing, and freelance nonfiction, but not creatively. For a long time, the stories I wanted to write stayed locked inside of my head because of severe writer’s block, which was fueled by anxiety and self-doubt.    In this episode, I share some simple tips that have helped me begin writing creatively again, even though it has been a slow process. These tips might help you either return to the page, or start your journey as a new writer. Some of this insight can also help people returning to other creative pursuits after a hiatus.

    With David “Vito” Gregoli

    Music is not only a treat for your ears, but it can also be therapy for the soul. Many of us have memories that are unlocked when we hear one of our favorite tunes. My guest on this episode is David “Vito” Gregoli, producer, composer, artist, and multi-instrumentalist. The episode features two of Vito’s pieces. The first is “On the Road to Windham” (with Jim “Kimo” West). The second one is a newer track called “Hope,” with (with Jim Gelcer). We talk about why all music, even popular music, can be healing to us, because of how it connects to our hearts. In this way, healing comes from how we receive it, rather than from the music or lyrics themselves. For example, what were we doing when we first heard a specific song? Does it remind us of a broken heart? A wonderful, nostalgic memory?  Vito talks about his background in music and playing rock n roll, as well as working in production and studio work. He also talks about how his interest in transcendental meditation, Buddhism, and heart-centered practices led him to compose and produce new age music. Vito describes how the music industry is evolving, how AI is affecting it, and shares tips for new musicians.
