A WINDOW TO THE MAGIC: WTTM24

A fun way to enjoy Disneyland in between visits!

Y’all haven’t had a review in a while so I thought I would give you one (plus you deserve one/plus I enjoy your show so it’s the least I can do). Great way to experience the parks!

Window to the Magic, if you didn't already know, is the long-running podcast where experiences at the DLR are recorded binaurally--with mics in each ear--so that when you listen back through headphones, you feel like you are there. WTTM24 is the spinoff show that takes that concept further and gives you an entire day at the parks by not editing anything out. From the tram ride in, to park closing, and everything in between: rides, yes, but the walks to--and lines for--said rides; the stops for coffee right after park opening or a pre-lunch churro; lunch & dinner at the various restaurants around the resort...everything but the restroom trips LOL Disneyland has very different vibes in the morning, afternoon, and after dark, and WTTM24 captures all of them brilliantly. Now you might be thinking, "I don't want to virtually wait in line for rides, it's bad enough when I have to actually wait in them" or "I don't wanna listen to people eat," but that's what gives you the *full* experience, and for a guy like me who's been really missing going to the parks lately, it scratches all those itches. It's not about the wait to get to the ride; it's about being able to share in the camaraderie of these long-time friends that makes this special. Think back to some of your fondest moments of Disneyland--sure there's a ride or parade or show that stands out, but you likely also remember who you were with and maybe even what you were talking about that day. WTTM24 gives you all that. Of course, the other unique thing about 24 is its concept of going stereo-wide, where Paul (who's mic'd) goes one way and Greg (also mic'd) goes another way, and the audio splits them between your left & right ears so you hear both their experiences at the same time! It's a trip, let me tell you. And if, say, Indiana Jones is too loud, and you're trying to hear what the other party is talking about, just take out that earbud. Paul leaves a little bit of the other side's audio in so you can still hear when they get off the ride. Genius! It probably goes without saying, but be sure to go in order because S1 E01 explains everything, and then each episode thereafter is the next hour in the day. S2 has an episode 0 of sorts where the guys talk about recording that year's day, and how it compared to S1. It's also fun to hear the evolution of the resort over the last 12+ years (each 'season' is 4 years apart from the last)--for example, hearing Rex talk about his "first" Star Tours flight in 2008, or Cars Land construction in 2012, all the way up to things being closed in 2016 for Star Wars Land construction. Give it a listen for yourself; it's my hope that it works its magic on you too. Here's to S4 in 2020 (fingers crossed!)
