    018 Love and Radio

Do we even care about secrets? Join Annie, Alexandra and special lesbian guest Yvonne as we discuss the ephemeral, genre-resistant podcast Love + Radio. We'll be discussing The Secrets Hotline, I & II, divulging our own secrets, unpacking the nature of secrets, secret lesbians, and basically how gross the restaurant industry is, speaking of secret weirdness.

BONUS! About the Sounds Around Us

A little bonus nugget for you... Our new segment, About the Sounds Around Us, is a study in sound. As podcasts attune our ears to sound and vocals, we become more aware of the sounds around us. And what does it tell us? Just listen:

    017 More Perfect

    017 More Perfect

What role does censorship play in protecting the marginalized? Should the government regulate hate speech online? Should corporations have online speech "police"? (Yikes!) We wade into the rhetorical, ideological bog with this one. With special guest Jonathan Taylor, we examine, through the lens of The Hate Debate episode of the podcast More Perfect, who is protected by the first amendment (spoiler alert: the privileged), making hate speech the new "fire!" in a crowded theater, the differences between free speech standards in the UK and the US and, finally, we ask ourselves, how do we transform the power behind speech and wield the sh*t out of it?

Like being with friends

I love this podcast, because it manages to use discussion about podcasts to get to deeper stuff, like prisons, heartbreak, and how to be an activist without getting burnout. Best part is you can really hear the friendship between the main hosts. Recommend!

It's like fanfic about podcasts

If you love podcasts and especially love when podcasts crossover with other podcasts or generally enjoy major gushing about podcasts, then this podcast is what you need. The love the two hosts have for podcasts is infectious. And the discussions they jump into are important and interesting. Definitely for the podcast nerds like me out there!
