Generally pretty good

Your opinion on the show will mostly depend on what you’re expecting. If you want an Apple-oriented tech podcast that’s a bit long and rambling but can be listened to without constantly paying very close attention, it’s a good one.

They sometimes go off into detailed rants about esoteric subjects. And they do express their (one-sided and ignorant) political opinions on occasion. But that’s fairly rare and I always just skip past them. There are plenty of other podcasts by people who actually understand the full spectrum of political viewpoints and are more objective and fair about them.

ATP is a good way to catch up on Apple products and services while commuting, walking, or working.

Tech podcast should be hosted by the ones who are really doing it, not some ‘senior writer’.

The most negative show I listen to

I’ve been a long time listener of ATP, ever since the first episode. John, Casey, and Marco have a great chemistry and usually have smart things to say about tech. However, over time, I’ve noticed that the show has gotten more and more negative, especially in the last year or so.

Now, it seems that most episodes mostly consist of complaining. There doesn’t seem to be anything they like. It seems that they are never satisfied, but also don’t want change. For example, they complain about the current state of the Mac, but then when Apple changes something, they complain about that too. It’s quite annoying to listen to. Can you just be positive about something, anything, for once? At least change the balance a bit - talk more about the things you do like, and less about the things you don’t. There’s enough negativity in the world right now, and I don’t need more of it on my tech podcasts.
