Acclimating to the new semester The College Success Habits Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Ep #36 - In this week's episode we discuss acclimating to the new semester through mindfulness of habit setting and preparation.
There are a ton of new things to get used to as the semester starts and if you are not paying attention to how you establish yourself at the beginning you could find yourself very behind, very early.
Each semester is a new chance to make changes to the previous semester's habits.
Introduce yourself to all your professors - even if for 15 seconds, and do this after each class.
Meet people in class: maybe you know people from other places, etc. that you can begin to think about study groups with.
Pick your study classmates carefully - watch out for the party animals who will rarely show up to class or study sessions prepared or otherwise.
Where are there openings you can best use for studying rather than going back to your dorm or apartment?
What are your best days to request to work or not work?
What is the best time to get up and go to bed?
What does your schedule look like?
Do you have the best path to class/work/etc figured out?
What is the best time to leave?
What is the latest you can leave and make it on time?
