Queen City Yarn is the result of a collaboration between friends Christen and Janis, brought together in the Queen City of Charlotte by their love for knitting and yarn. They've nurtured their passion for putting color to skein and now they want to share that passion with you!

Their products start with one of six great yarn bases, each named for a neighborhood in the Queen City that reflects their personality.  The colors they apply are inspired by the beautiful things they see around them as well as breathtaking places they have visited.  While each color they produce can stand on its own, they pay special attention to creating a series of complementary colors. They strive to make it easy to pick one or more great colors for your next project.

Where knitting and theatrical antics meet

Actually knitting is a well planned podcast produced by Michelle. By day she is a high school Spanish teacher and, in her spare time, she enjoys acting and singing. For this reason her segments are theatrically titled. As evidenced by her profession, Michelle plans her episodes carefully. I’ve enjoyed hearing about her knitting escapades as well as her running and acting gigs. She hosts one of the best knit-a-longs each summer called the Pal Kal which celebrates podcasters who are designers, makers and dyers. I believe she is on hiatus right now but I hope she resumes her regular podcast schedule soon.

passionknit1 ,

So enjoyable!

I started listening to your podcast from the beginning, and I’m all caught up. I love listening to all your segments. The running segments are especially enjoyable since I ran a marathon last year. Will your podcast come back?

Pyperjean ,

Smart ladies!

Just love listening to your podcast. I learn something every time- very time worthy !!
