Best Podcast Ever

A truly delightful form of geekery with lawyers dissecting the legal implications of the fictional worlds of popular movies (mostly from the 1990s, so even if you're like me and don't get around to seeing a film for a decade or more after it's released chances are you've seen or at least heard of most of these). The episode release timetable is erratic because the hosts are busy being lawyers, but that just means that it's a wonderful surprise whenever a new episode pops up in my feed. This podcast makes me so happy.

Asking the questions I never had, but really need the answers to

Probably my favorite podcast. Sara (a defense attorney) and Meredith (a tech policy lawyer) do a great job of making the legal issues accessible to non-lawyers, and asking important questions like
"How would the supreme court rule on the Minority Report pre-cogs' premonitions as admissable evidence?"
"At what point does The Truman Show become unlawful imprisonment?"
"Which people in the Jurassic Park franchise have standing for a tort claim?"
"How did War Games lead to the government classifyng 'violating a website's terms of service' as a felony?"
"Do the Westworld robots own the copyright on works of art they create?"
"How is the Santa Clause different from the iTunes terms of service agreement?"

I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who likes overthinking pop culture (or listening to others do so), or who likes to engage in crazy hypotheticals. And even though nothing in this podcast is legal advice, it's a great starting point for anyone who's looking for a quick overview of how the legal system works, and what kind of laws apply to what scenarios.

Love the concept!

This podcast is so interesting and it’s so fun to listen to. Thought I was the only weirdo who sits at home and critiques the legality in movies.
