Adam Goodes is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Widely considered to be a legend, Goodes holds an elite place in AFL history as a dual Brownlow Medallist, dual premiership player, four-time All-Australian, member of the Indigenous Team of the Century and representative of Australia in the International Rules Series.
Mr. Goodes impact, however, goes beyond the football field - he is also well known for his community work. He is currently the CEO of the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) and the co-founder of the GO Foundation. In 2014, he was recognized as Australian of the Year because of his antiracism advocacy and support of Indigenous sporting and community programs.
