Adapt with Blaine Strickland The Book Club Interview

    • Technology

Blaine Strickland is a lifetime veteran of the commercial real estate industry. After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in real restate from the University of Florida, Blaine launched a career that has spanned forty years. He has played many roles along the way, including broker, manager, owner, investor, professor, syndicator, and developer. He became a CCIM designee in 1987 and a CCIM senior instructor in 2008.
Adapt invites the consideration of everyone who touches the commercial real estate brokerage industry. Real-estate owners, property managers, investors, lenders, users, venture capitalists, academic institutions, and all the peripheral vendors who interact with commercial real estate agents will benefit from thinking about the future of those agents. Many of these allied groups will be affected by—or potentially advance—the imminent disruption of the industry. The future that I examine will affect all these stakeholders.
Where Thrive is written as a how-to book, this book has a what-if
message and preparing for the future. Adapt explores an entirely
new set of questions of what lies ahead, changes that are coming, and how we can adapt to the reshaping of the industry.

In the book Adapt, Blaine organizes the 9 forces into three groups:
The transformation of our clients
The activities of the biggest players in the arena
The demographic evolution of our work force
