#13 The Easy Thing That's Getting In Your Way of Your Goals

#13 The Easy Thing That's Getting In Your Way of Your Goals

We all have them—those pesky habits that we just can't seem to shake. They might be minor things, like scrolling on our phones longer than intended, or bigger issues, like consistently sacrificing sleep for Netflix.

The problem with bad habits is that they rob us of time and energy. And, when we’re tired and exhausted, we tend to rely on bad habits to make us feel better (think scrolling on Instagram, unnecessarily spending money or overeating).

No matter what the habit is, it's frustrating when we can't seem to break it. But don't worry, you're not alone. This week, we’re going to do a deep dive into why we tend to hit the easy button from time to time.

    What’s inside this episode…

Get clear about why it sometimes feels like we’re doing things out of our own free will
The key to making lasting change (hint: it’s not beating yourself up)
How having a personal goal can help you break a habit

    #12 YOY Holiday Growth

    #12 YOY Holiday Growth

The holidays can be a stressful time of year. Between work events, property events and family events, there are so many places you have to be all at once, which can really cut down on the time you have to rest and relax.

Because of all the hustle, it can be easy to fall into some unhelpful habits (ex: overscrolling, overeating, overspending).

Today's episode is a brief celebration of year over year growth. I talk about how I used to use food to numb the holiday stress - and how good it feels to have learned that's what I was doing.

I'd love for you to consider for yourself: What habit of yours would you like to let go of this holiday season? If you did, how would it help you connect with your famliy, your friends, your coworkers and yourself more authentically this year?

    What's inside this episode?

    How dopamine works
    The concept of 50-50
    Why I dislike diet culture

#8 Why You Must Decide What You Want

#8 Why You Must Decide What You Want

At no point were we taught how to construct a vision for what we really want in our lives. We're encouraged to go to school, get a good job, and work our way up the corporate ladder. But what if that's not what we really want? What if we want something different? Property management can be a great career choice for people who are looking for something different. It's a fast-paced and ever-changing industry, and there's always something new to learn.

However, property management can also be a very demanding job, requiring long hours and often causing stress. If you are considering a career in property management, it is important to first take the time to construct a vision for yourself. What kind of life do you want to lead? What kind of property do you want to manage? What does work-life balance look like for you?

Without answers to these questions, it’s too easy to fall into the trap of overworking.

Listen to find out how and why you should get clear on what you want.

    What’s in this episode

Why you need to get clear on what you want
The problems from not knowing what it is you want

Everyone needs to listen!

Holy relatable! I’m a commercial insurance agent, wife, and mother to two young kids. So just call me “addicted to busy,” too! And while this podcast is geared toward property managers, I’ve taken so much from my listens. Anna discusses topics that are all too prevalent in today’s working world — perfectionism, burnout, and achieving the wildly sought after “work/life balance.” The truth bombs she drops — about how YOU, YOUR mind, and YOUR habits are keeping you stuck and the easy-to-implement steps to create a better tomorrow — will leave you feeling energized and hopeful. I’ll “keep going” Anna (I’m coining her signature sign-off) — keep the invaluable content coming!

More of this is needed!

I’ve worked in property management in multi-family and now HOA management where there is so much expected of the managers, on-site team etc. We are in an ever growing world where service is expected immediately and perfectly, which *can* be a recipe for absolute burnout. Anna puts everything into perspective eloquently and I can’t wait to hear what she talks about in future episodes providing resources, tips, and most importantly knowing we’re not alone ☺️
