My daughter has selective mutism. I am just now learning about it and come to realize now I also had it. I can relate to so many things you talk about and experience them with her. I’ve learned so much from you both. This has been an excellent resource while I wait to get her the care she needs as resources seem to be limited in my area. Thank you again!
Incredibly helpful!

I had never heard of SM until I heard Chelsea on Turn Autism Around and realized my daughter had it. Thanks to the information and advice I’ve gotten while listening to the podcast I’ve started therapy for my daughter (SM diagnosis was confirmed by therapist). She’s 12 which feels like we’re really behind the game but better late than never to work on these issues. We’ve even got a cotton ball jar going right now! Thank you Chelsea and now that I’ve caught up I’d love some new episodes! ❤️
Informative and human

I found this podcast from listening to Turning Autism Around. I was a Spec. Ed teacher for 10+ years and I currently work mainly with adults & teens with Autism, social anxiety plus other issues. I have gained valuable tips and information to help me assist my clients to gain confidence and more independence in social situations and overall daily life. Thank you, I love this podcast and shared it with my colleagues! Chelsea, you are doing a great service to many families, teachers, therapists, parents, family members, etc. I commend your bravery and determination in making this wonderful podcast spreading not only information, but linking others into this community of support.
A Life changing Resource

Thank you for creating a much needed resource that centers the voice of someone with SM. As a mom of a little one with SM and sensory sensitivities, you have helped deepen my understanding and actually given some practical skills. I have read some research that suggests SM may be linked with an enlarged amygdala. Would love to see this explored in a future episode.
