Let! My! Millennial! Husk! Rot!

In one episode, Adrienne is asked by her freshly added co-host Rachel if there was anything she would've done differently had she gotten to direct more porn films herself. Adrienne has an immediate answer: all that stuff that is usually saved for "behind the scenes" outtakes, like performers calling for more lube or the giggly process of switching from one position into another? She would have kept that in, she says, because the audience should know what's real. Her co-host excitedly agrees, and sometime not long after, Adrienne's cat Georgia Binx causes some mishap that needs attending to. Adrienne doesn't edit this out, although she easily could--and that's what's so great about this show. Her approach to the podcast's creation is largely the same as her answer to the question above: she's figuring out how to record and edit and be a podcast host on the fly, all while talking frankly about her time in the adult industry. For the first stretch of the podcast, she does all this alone! Eventually her cat quite literally makes an appearance, and her delightfully energetic co-host arrives exactly when the show needs it, but Adrienne's early episodes show a level of assertiveness and ease with trying something entirely new to her that (we find out in one especially enlightening episode) was a key factor of her success in her old job. But she doesn't stop at dispensing trivia about the wild and mundane parts of being a porn star; true to the title of the podcast, Adrienne discusses at length what her life is like specifically because she WAS a porn star. I won't spoil any more of it here, but it's a hilarious and touching trip so far. Go listen, and remember: PAY FOR YOUR PORN!

Get Rachel's mom to watch Boogie Nights

This is an informative and often funny podcast about a topic you don't always hear the real stories behind. Adrienne and Rachel are both really smart and have a super fun dynamic and I like the stream of consciousness feel as they weave in and out of topics. But more importantly Rachel's mom will watch Paul Thomas Anderson's critically acclaimed film Boogie Nights starring Mark Wahlberg and Don Cheadle if it picks up enough steam so give this pod some love.
