EP5. FEAR - Friend or Foe

In this solo episode, I talk through how to decide if FEAR is your friend or foe in any given situation. Life is not black or white, but when it comes to our feelings around Fear we will either run or we will rise. In this episode I bring real life experiences combined with the science of positive psychology to help you deconstruct and decipher the thoughts that trigger your feelings around this emotion that when we pay attention to it, may be one of our greatest teachers. EP6. When Possibility Meets Perfection

    EP6. When Possibility Meets Perfection

This solo show came about when I was trying to edit an interview for both this podcast and also YouTube. I discovered that there was a gap in my skillset, and that on this particular morning I didn't have what I needed to get the work done perfectly. My brain battled my heart and in that moment my brain won and I quit. A few minutes later my heart took over and this podcast was recorded. A win in my book. Relatable and Expressed to a Tee

Petra is accomplished and decorated, but real and relatable to every woman out there (of any age). We’re all finding our way; it’s refreshing to vicariously travel with her.

I especially loved episode 6: When Possibility Meets Perfection. Oh boy! I am in the same boat- do I shoot with an iPhone that’s easy; a Sony camera that uses a bajillion gigabytes then has to be dumped into a computer that’s for sure out of storage; a GoPro that needs a special adapter and SIM card— and any of these will require laying music over in post-production that I’ll spend all day trying to put just right.
The worst was my first YouTube Live class, which was at the beginning of the pandemic. I fretted something would go wrong with my highly choreographed Step class, live- what if the music didn’t play; what if YouTube inverts the camera for Live like FB does… I decided to “play safe” and pre-record it but make it seem live. I faux-welcomed all the people I knew would be tuning in “OMG! Jenny! It’s been years- so good to see you! Kathy, there you are!” I shot all the choreography, and edited out every “um” and “uh.” I then realized I had to lay over each song, one by one (as opposed to being able to pull the full album), and tried to line each up. Volume levels were inconsistent. And, when people tuned in, they could tell since it started rolling as soon as they tuned in early that it wasn’t really live. It was a total mess. It would have been better to allow a goof or two that’s bound to happen with a Live shoot happen, but be brave enough to go there. Because the disguise of a Live performance was 50x as much work, and had flaws of its own.
It was a lesson learned-ish. Ish because I may not the exact same mistake, but I make others that could be considered this one’s kissing cousin.

Petra is showing us the real scoop on what she’s doing and her backstory that got her there. It’s refreshing, relatable, funny, fresh, inspiring, and oh so stylish! I look forward to her podcast and just know women across the world will be blessed by her message, journey, and brilliant delivery.

Age of Possibility

I first met Petra while at my first fitnessfest. I attended a few of her classes and like this fog that's been hanging over me that was lifted. Since, staring her 30 day class hasn't been my upmost best; due to the fact my mother's health took a turn and caught us off guard let alone she just had emergency surgery and during these past couple of weeks Petra has kept me going through it. Thank you, Petra
