[Re-wind] Turning the Art of Impact into a Science | Carolyn Jungclas

[Re-wind] Turning the Art of Impact into a Science | Carolyn Jungclas

Back when we began Season 2 of Agents of Change, we noticed a common theme emerge. Often, the agents of change we speak with have taken unexpected paths to get to where they are. When it comes to making an impact in your company, there is not one specific blueprint to follow.
Carolyn Jungclas is the Senior Vice President and Director of Procurement and Vendor Management at First Citizens Bank. She has made some big changes in processes during her time at First Citizens Bank, even though she didn’t have previous history in banking.
In this episode, you’ll hear Carolyn’s journey, and how her first big project - setting up a vendor risk management program - involved the implementation of a contract management system.
Carolyn sought to implement requirements that don’t simply check a box, but actually make the most sense for those that will be using them most. And sometimes, the answer to that question requires some digging. So, how did she do it?
Carolyn is driven to solve problems, and most importantly, solve problems that make the lives of the people she works with much better. Listen in to hear her story.

    Predictions: What Happens Next?

    Takeaways From Season 3:

    1. Focus On the People

    Supporting Quotes:
Kevin: People are the heart of your organization. When you’re in the middle of a massive change, it’s easy to focus on the processes or technology. But without the people – your team, your customers, and your partners – your organization wouldn’t be what it is today, or what it could be tomorrow.

    2. Technology is a Tool

    Supporting Quotes:
Kevin: It’s simply a powerful tool, not a magic solution. And, like any tool, it’s impact is in how it’s used. So use it well.

    3. Be Prepared

    Supporting Quote:
Kevin: We can’t predict the future, but we can prepare for it. Focus on the fundamentals, put the right people in place, and be willing to change, and you’ll be ready for every possible tomorrow.

    Artificial Intelligence: What is Reality?

    Artificial Intelligence: What is Reality?

What comes to mind when you hear AI? Thanks to Hollywood movies like Terminator and iRobot, there’s a wealth of menacing imagery associated with the term. While entertaining these aren’t an accurate picture of AI in the real world.
As businesses embrace digital technology, AI is becoming more necessary for success. Yet, there are misconceptions abound, and leaders often don’t understand it well enough to implement it in their business. In this episode, we’re going to examine what AI is, what it’s capable of, and how it’s being applied in today’s business  landscape.
Experts featured are Ajay Dawar, Product Executive at Conga, Jason Gabbard (gah-BARD), Head of AI Strategy at Conga, Dan Hopkins, Senior Director of Applied AI at eightfold, and Carl Harkness, Contracts Manager for Nimbus Therapeutics.

Great Example of Transformational Leadership

Great podcast. Loved the points related to the customer being in the center of what Steve and team were working to accomplish. Also loved how he as the VP of Sales led a transformation effort, in large part a tech transformation by being humble and meeting his tech partners in a place where they were not "offended". Great job to all.

Great to hear from the trenches

They’re doing a great job highlighting the folks at big companies that are actually digging in and making a difference. I get tired of reading about the CIOs and CKOs at big companies. Great perspective and great host. I’ve used some of Conga’s products at my past company and they are quite powerful. Keep up great work guys!
