Great potential

I like this podcast, and I love discussing disasters. I would love to see the creators cut back the banter in the beginning of episodes, but what’s important is that they seem to be having fun.

Ugh

I tried. Skipped through much of the first 3 episodes of Chernobyl series. It’s like a 8th grader explaining to a 3rd grader. Try harder. Great topics, horrible delivery.

genuine and real

i’ve been listening to podcasts for years but this is the first time i have ever felt compelled to write a review. i came across this show completely by accident and i can’t stop listening. the topics are insanely interesting and well researched. the hosts are immensely human and relatable. it genuinely feels like a conversation between friends. i’ve listened to other shows that are obnoxiously overproduced with painful, obviously scripted back-and-forth banter between the perfect voice actors who are hosting; it’s so frustratingly disingenuous. this is the exact opposite. from the way rachel and david bring up their casual interests and relate it to the topic or the way they get frustrated about the state of the world and just have to groan and move on. lol like... i get it! those are the same conversations i have with my friends. i appreciate hearing that realness, though i understand why other listeners might be looking for something with less personality and more of a clean, clear-cut delivery of facts. i’m also very charmed by rachel’s commitment to being inclusive; she handled the topics surrounding the lgbtq+ community in the HIV/AIDS episodes really well. most importantly you can tell that these are decent people. it’s obvious that their commentary and jokes are coming from the right place, never a mean one. i hope this podcast continues for a long time.
