Episode 6: QuestDB - The fastest open source time series database

This week on the show, Aakash and Xand discuss QuestDB [https://questdb.io/]. QuestDB's product focuses querying large amounts of time series data quickly and easily. Xand takes Aakash on a journey which delves into why massive companies like Elastic and MongoDB give away their product for free. We learn that open-source is the developer product version of freemium, and there's a huge benefit to being open-source.

HireSweet - Recruit targeted passive candidates at a click of a button

HireSweet - Recruit targeted passive candidates at a click of a button

Episode 5: HireSweet - Recruit targeted passive candidates at a click of a button

This week on the show, Aakash and Xand discuss HireSweet [https://www.hiresweet.com/]. HireSweet's product focuses recruiting and hiring passive candidates. They're building a marketplace where the buyers are people with job roles to fill and the sellers are passive job candidates. Recruiting is a competitive industry, and the prices are cutthroat -- so HireSweet only works on commission. That's risky! HireSweet has a dual challenge of growing both sides of its marketplace, and this is a tricky balancing act.

Karat - the Amex black card for creators

Episode 4: Karat - The Amex black card for creators

This week on the show, Aakash and Xand discuss Karat [https://www.trykarat.com]. Karat focuses on providing lines of credit to creators. The creator economy is here to stay. Patreon is the largest example of building a product for creators. However, banks haven't kept up with the times (surprise surprise!), and creators have a very difficult time getting credit for their projects. Karat provides lines of credit to creators by having a better understanding of how creators can monetize their audiences. Xand and Aakash also weave in broader discussion about financial technology as a whole.

Warmly - Warm intros to warm leads

Episode 3: Warmly - Warm Intros to Warm Leads Every Week

This week on the show, Aakash and Xand discuss Warmly [https://www.getwarmly.com/]. Warmly's product focuses on lead generation for oubound sales. They've taken a proven strategy, looking at your current customers' employees who have reached purchasing decisions, and they've turned it into a SaaS product. We think it's a brilliant idea, and we stan Warmly's offering. We talk about how Warmly can find buyers of their own product primarily through outbound sales. Warmly's pricing model also interests us, because it's always profitable to be where the money is made -- on the revenue side.

Pilot - Payroll, benefits, and compliance for remote teams

Episode 2: Pilot - Payroll, benefits, and compliance for remote teams

This week on the show, Aakash and Xand discuss Pilot [www.pilot.co]. Pilot focuses on helping companies hire, pay, and manage talent internationally. They solve the complexities that come with international hiring. Their competition is traditional enterprise personnel management solution providers and apathy. Pilot needs to be pleasant to use, and they have to get in front of people who would benefit from the new capability of the Pilot product -- painless international hiring. Xand and Aakash agree that there is a demand and the product can disrupt the traditional players, but they disagree on go-to-market. Go-to market risk is the make-or-break for Pilot. Xand thinks outbound sales and SEO are the best channels. Aakash thinks partnerships would be most fruitful.
