How To Be A Good Friend

How To Be A Good Friend

In this episode we are playing a fun critical thinking game that will challenge your kids to figure out what they love and enjoy the most and talking about friendship! We are talking though qualities that make up a good friend in a fun way that I know your kids will enjoy.
This episode will for sure bring on some good learning points on what it means to be a good friend and will challenge your kids to act with kindness towards others.
Car Game With Kids - One Must Go How it works on the podcast: I will list out 3 to 4 things in a group, and then the players have to decide which one they could or would do without for the rest of their life.
How To Be A Good Friend Friendship is a great topic to discuss with kids! In this segment of this episode we are digging into 4 qualities that make someone a good friend. We’ll also do a few fill in the blank questions for kids to answer about friendship.
Knowing how to be a good friend is more important than how many friends you have.
If we want our friends to be nice to us, say kind things, share with us, and have fun doing things we like, then we should try to do the same things for them.
Maybe over dinner you and your kids can talk about ways that everyone can be good friend to kids in at school, at church, and to siblings.
I had a great time putting together this episode and I hope that you enjoyed it! One of the best ways that you can support the show is by leaving a rating and review wherever you listen to podcasts. I love reading the reviews and getting messages from listeners! It totally makes my week!
I hope that you and your family get to keep talking about friendship and what being a good friend looks like for the rest of the week!
Until next time! Read the full show notes at alongfortheride.info

Preschool Car Game - Repeat After Me This is such a fun game for preschoolers! It’s all about silly sounds and paying attention.
Here is how we play the game on the episode: I’ll give a pattern and the kids will repeat it back. It might be words to say. It might be funny sounds to make. It might be numbers to count. It might be claps with hands.
You can play this game anywhere! The next time you’re out and about and need an activity to pass the time or to keep your little one entertained, come up with different kinds of patterns for them to repeat - claps, snaps, foot stomps, words, sounds, numbers, anything you want!
What do Preschoolers like most about Fall? Fall is coming!! There is so much to be excited about! A great way to know what your preschooler likes most about fall is to simply ask! Let’s make it more fun by making a game out of it!
Here’s how we’ll play in the episode: I’ll give two options to choose from (they are things that most people love about this time of year!) and everyone says what they like the best out of the two options.

The Fall Season is one of the best times of the year for families! In this episode we're talking through all of the fun things that families can do during this season and playing our very own version of Red Light Green Light!
Cool News Alert! Along For The Ride has an Ebook!

Car Games For Kids - Red Light Green Light I think we can play a version of Red Light Green Light in the car! We obviously can't run around because we’re buckled in our seatbelts, but I KNOW there are a lot of things we can do safely buckled in.
I’m going to give a green light instruction, the kids do it and will have to pay attention to when I call for “Red Light” or “Yellow Light.” When I say red light you freeze, when I say Yellow Light you do the action in slow motion, when I say Green light you start doing the action I give.
    Must-Do Fall Experiences For Families
You can have the fullest, most fun, most enjoyable time with your family this Autumn. So Let’s get excited and talk about all of the things that we’re looking forward to doing!
I have come up with a HUGE list of Fall Experiences for you to have with your family. You can print off the list, hang it on your fridge, and cross items off as you go! Click here to get the list 👉 https://www.alongfortheride.info/fall
I want to give you a turn for you to share what you’re excited about doing! Maybe it’s picking out the perfect Halloween Costume, or playing basketball on a team, seeing your Family at Thanksgiving, or going to Awana at church! And for the adults, maybe you’re excited about wearing a cozy sweatshirt and watching Hallmark movies or reading a book! It’s the simple things, yall!
Spend a little time sharing 3 things that you're excited about doing this season!
Autumn True or False Game In this episode we'll do a quick round of True or False since we’ve had so much fun talking about Autumn!
Fall Leaf Colors are caused by sugar. True or False? Snakes and bees hibernate when it gets colder. True or False Pumpkins are vegetables. True or False? Daylight Savings Time - you know when the time changes and the clocks Fall backwards and we get to sleep an hour later one Sunday out of the year – well that whole concept was suggested as a joke by Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin. Is that true or false? I love a good fun fact! Find the answers on the blog at Alongfortheride.info!
Thank you so much for listening and playing along with me today. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have!
If you've ever thought, "I love Along For The Ride! It's so fun!" Would you take 2 minutes and leave a rating and review? It helps more people find the show and spreads the joy!

3 Fun Family Activities For The Car

3 Fun Family Activities For The Car

This is a jam packed episode perfect for a weekend road trip or a Saturday at home with your kids! We’re playing Would Your Rather Switch Hands Drawing (grab the kids some paper and something to draw with!) and I’ve got a special imagination exercise that just might buy you 5 minutes of quiet time.
Listen to this episode with your kids and have the most fun!
Leave a Rating and Review where you listen to podcasts and get my brand new Ebook for free!
For the month of September in 2022 I am giving away my brand new ebook to anyone who leaves a rating and review about the show. All you have to do is leave a review, take a screenshot, and then send me the screen shot. You can send it through an Instagram Direct Message to @aftr_kidspodcast or go to alongfortheride.info/contact.
Car Game For Kids - Would You Rather  Would You Rather is one of my most favorite games ever! It’s creative and silly, makes you think a little bit, and can reveal information about people that you might not know!
I’m sharing Would You Rather Questions and will give a few seconds for everyone to say their answers. If you need more time with a question, just press pause on the show!
Kids Drawing Game - Now Switch Hands For this activity, kids will need a couple of pieces of clean paper and a writing utensil.
Here's how it works: I will give instructions for something to write or draw. I’ll call out "Now Switch Hands!" and the kids have to switch hands and keep drawing or writing. If they finish a section before I give the signal to move on, they’ll just start over and keep on going!
I would love to see pictures of the crazy hand-switching artwork! Snap a pic and tag or send a DM to Along for the Ride on Facebook or Instagram @aftr_kidspodcast. I’d love to see these amazing works of art!
Quiet Imaginative Thinking Exercise For Kids One thing that I loved doing when I was a kid and even know as an adult is to just let my mind wander and come up with fun ideas and possibilities! I want to give us a little time and space to do that here on the podcast.
Here is the challenge - I’m going to ask you a question and give you something to think about. Then everyone has to be totally quiet for 5 whole minutes.
Here’s the Question - “if you had all the money in the world to help people in need, what would you do?”
After this episode is over, don’t let it play to another episode or don’t put music on. Let’s have everyone try to sit quietly and think for 5 minutes! You could also do this on your own time! I bet your kid(s) will come up with some great answers!
Take it a step further and help them see how we don’t have to have all the money in the world to help people. Talk with them about what it looks like to help people by being kind, serving others, and offering to help.

Entertaining for all

I’ve tried to get my 5yo to listen to a ton of different podcasts, and this is the first one that he likes! My 5yo and 6yo both live JJ’s games, and I love the conversation that they spark. Thanks for helping pass the time during commutes and all the life tips!

Family gameshow for the win!

This is SUCH a fun-for-all and engaging show. You will want to be JJ’s friend as soon as you tune in. Love the way it helps us connect and talk and laugh as a family… especially in the car, where so much sibling drama seems to ensue!
