We are Br. Matt Wooters and Damian Torres-Botello, two Jesuits in their final stages of formation, excited about prayer and eager to share prayer with anyone willing to join us! So come along, pray with us, for less than fifteen minutes, and see what happens between you and God.
Lent Ep 3: Praying with Being v. Doing
Damian and Br. Matt talk about the temptation of rushing into action rather than simply being. This Sunday's Gospel is the Transfiguration when Jesus' friends react in a similar way- rushing to "do."
Damian leads our prayer and teaches us the Five Finger Prayer popularized by Pope Francis.
Lent Ep 2: Prayer as noticing those who help us along the way
This weekend's scripture involves Jesus going into the desert. As we begin Lent, what is drawing you to God and what is getting in the way? Who helps minister to you? Lent is a time of intentionality, but even the "rules" of Lent can become more about our ego than about God.
Ash Wednesday- Creative Ways to Pray
The guys are back! Br. Matt and Damian share what Ash Wednesday means for them and offer some ideas on how to engage Lent this year for you and your family. As always, they end with a guided prayer about what helps and hurts our relationship with God.
Be sure to subscribe to get the latest episodes throughout Lent, and comment to help us spread this pod around!
Ep 8: Christmas Eve Eve: Getting up from prayer
Advent is coming to an end. This mirrors the spiritual life- after praying it is time to get up, blow out the candle, and live your life infused with your prayer. Damian shares the grace and challenge of infusing our life with our prayer and our prayer with our life.
Thanks to everyone who joined us Along The Way this advent. We will be back for season 2 in Lent 2021!
And remember, God loved you first.
Let’s go forth today and live our lives as our response to that love!
Ep 7: 4th Sunday of Advent
God uses all sorts of unexpected, crazy things to change the world... like unplanned teenage pregnancy. The guys discuss surprises and how we are invited to pivot according to God's plans, not ours. Just because we say "yes" doesn't mean it is easy.
Ep6: Best Day Ever: Finding Joy + Gratitude daily
Joy week continues! Br. Matt, the in house joy-generator, shares his insights into how you can have The Best Day Ever. Today's meditation is looking for and celebrating gratitude and joy in the tiny, small, overlooked moments of your day.

Great for the whole family!
My six-year-old nephew and I listened to the Ash Wednesday episode while eating our grilled cheese and tomato soup! It was a great way to talk about why Lent is really important for connecting us to each other and to God. The contemplation at the end was also great opportunity for us to pray together.
I just finished episode 3. (I’m playing catch up.) But I need to tell you that it was a really good thing to hear Damien and Br Matt talk about taking hard stuff to God. Having lost my mom early this year, I’ve felt wrong about being upset/hurt at Him that she’s gone and everyone in my life seems to have that ‘good posture.’ It was good to hear that reminder that I’m not the only one who feels sad/mad and that God can handle my honesty while I work through these feelings.
So great for this advent- thank you both. Matt since your IG post on micro-Joys those have become a thing in my life. So valuable on hard days.
