Commentary on Apologetics from a Review of Portions of the Dillahunty/Scrivener Dialo

Commentary on Apologetics from a Review of Portions of the Dillahunty/Scrivener Dialo

Used the comments made by Matt Dillahunty and Glen Scrivener on the Unbelievable program as a platform for a discussion of apologetic methodology and application today on the program, going just under 90 minutes. This included definitions of presuppositionalism as well as a short discussion of slavery in the Bible as well. Last program till next week due to the G3 Conference in Atlanta. See you all there-

KJB Fundy Numerology, Flowers' Unwanted Child, RNS Opinion Piece on Cone

Had to get the silly stuff out of the way first, so we looked at Andrew Sluder's -KJB Numerology- where he uses verse numbers and their position in the Bible to prove its inspiration. Then we got serious and read through a Soteriology 101 article and dealt with its man-centeredness. Finished off with an RNS opinion piece that alleged that James Cone's heresy really isn't heresy, it is all about white power. Also had some further information about the Rome-Israel cruise and associated excursions.

Answering Marcus Rogers' Questions, 2 Thess. 2:15 and Jay Dyer

Answering Marcus Rogers' Questions, 2 Thess. 2:15 and Jay Dyer

Back to live streaming today -yay--. Covered, very quickly, the questions asked by Marcus Rogers in one of those -I'm going to prop my phone up on my dashboard in a parking lot- type videos regarding the Trinity. I was named specifically, so I responded specifically, though briefly. Then we looked at 2 Thess. 2-15 as quoted by Jay Dyer in his -10 Reasons- video we started responding to last week.

Francis Chan and Church History, Leighton Flowers and Romans 3

Nearly two hours on the program today -not live streamed due to our computer issues-, first hour in response and review of the Francis Chan clip that surfaced yesterday about the Supper and church history, the second hour in response to Leighton Flowers and Romans 3.

Jumbo Edition of the Dividing Line Despite Technical Challenges

Jumbo Edition of the Dividing Line Despite Technical Challenges

Started off with some exciting news about the upcoming Rome-Israel-Athens-Ephesus cruise in September -see the previous article here on the blog-. Then we looked briefly at Jemar Tisby's comment about James Cone before looking at a very, very odd piece from Facebook identifying Yahweh as Satan -yes, Marcion still prowls the earth-. Then we got into the heart of the program by looking at a recent video by Jay Dyer on why he is no longer a Protestant. I challenged the Reformed in the audience to really know what they believe so that they can recognize these kinds of arguments. Lots of reading recommendations provided as well. Get a deep seat in the saddle for this one-

Radio Free Geneva: Soteriology 101, God's Glory, then the Unbelievable Panel on Theod

Finished off 2019 with a MEGA edition of Radio Free Geneva -2 hours-, first looking at Leighton Flowers' comments on the glory of God and then listening to comments made by the panel at the Unbelievable USA Conference on the subject of Calvinism. Then we looked a bit at John Lennox's comments on John 6, but will continue that more in-depth on a future Radio Free Geneva.

Handling tough issues like a Christian

I love how many things I’ve learned about and come into contact with listening to Dr. White’s podcast! I’ve especially been challenged by his consistent attitude of graciousness toward those with whom he disagrees. Especially Dr. Michael Brown! I’m a former charismatic, and soooo ready to bring the hammer down in that area - but Dr White’s example has caused a pause more than once for me to deal in a gracious manner with those brothers and sisters with whom I disagree.

Thanks for keeping me in touch with a WIDE variety of issues, and doing it in an uncompromising yet compassionate way.

God bless!
