83. Grow: Spiritual Growth Within Community
“No one drifts into spiritual maturity.” Spiritual growth requires intentionality, and that happens best in the context of relationships. The goal for our church is for all of us to be on the journey of discipleship, and our leadership has narrowed it down to 3 easy concepts: Connect / Grow / Serve. We introduced “GROW in Classes and Groups” recently, and we wanted to go a little deeper on that topic for our episode today. What does spiritual growth mean to you? What does that look like within a community? Community is part of who God is—it’s a vital piece in our walk with Christ. Being in community brings accountability, growth, and strength when we need it the most. Part of growth as a Christian is becoming more like Christ, and community helps us to grow and mature in that direction. In this episode we talk about what spiritual growth means to us, why it’s important to get involved, and how community produces growth within our walk with Christ.

82. The Blessings of Generosity
The Bible doesn’t shy away from talking about how we use our money, but we’re often hesitant to have those conversations ourselves. When we remember that everything we have is God’s, perhaps it will change our approach. Consider that we are taking what is already His and seeing how He is leading us to use it. Today’s episode is a look at upcoming conversations we’ll be having as a church about generosity. The study takes a deep dive into Scripture to see what God has to say about the blessings he’s given us and how he intends for us to use those blessings. If we consider how Jesus talked about money, he brought up the topic in the context of making disciples—as a way of fostering discipleship. Why is it important that we are good stewards of what God has given us? And how does this affect us as followers of Christ? Have a listen to this important conversation as we seek to bring an open posture to the idea of generosity.

81. Connect with Worship
The goal for our church is for all of us to be on the journey of discipleship, and our leadership has narrowed it down to 3 easy concepts: Connect / Grow / Serve. We introduced “CONNECT with Worship” on Sunday, and we wanted to go a little deeper on that topic for our episode today. We live in a time where people are searching for genuine, authentic community. As followers of Christ, worship is one of those places for us. When we prioritize worship as one of our spiritual habits, it changes us over time—it transforms us. Maybe we consider our posture when we come to worship. In this episode, Mic offers a helpful practice for when we enter worship and after leaving worship. Listen in to hear more of the conversation.
Speakers: Hannah McNeill, Kevin Schaffer, Mic Biesboer
80. And So We Wait: Anticipation & the Season of Advent
Advent is the season of the church calendar where we anticipate the coming of Jesus—both his first coming as a baby and his second arrival that is still to come. This time of year is about how we live between those two places, and the way we approach the season can be a witness to our culture about God and his plan for the world. Join us for this conversation about lights and songs, symbolism and meaning. May you be renewed during this Advent season.
Speakers: Hannah McNeill, Mary McNeill, Mic Biesboer
79. Our Mission Stories: Personal Tales of the Mission Field
We are a story people, and we learn through story (think of all the stories throughout Scripture). So as a part of Missions Month, we’re looking at mission work through the lens of our personal stories. Listen to today’s episode to hear about the experiences of Jordan Womble, Ethan McNeill, Elaine Nesbitt, Mic Biesboer, Hannah McNeill, and Greg Dowell in the mission field. From landmines to shoeless soccer games, they have some stories to tell. Allow these stories to connect you to the heart of mission work and see all the ways God is moving through his people across the globe.
78. Experiencing Faith Through Student Ministry
Today’s conversation is a look at another one of our ministries here at Central—the Student Ministry. Listen in as Mesa Allison, Rylee Lutes, Mic Biesboer, and Hannah McNeill begin the conversation with memorable experiences that they had as teens, and then discuss the best gourmet burritos of all time, provided by our very own teens last Sunday for Missions Month. Then we jump into the hopes for this ministry—that this is a place to have conversations and to be accepted, a place to develop relationships and grow in faith and knowledge. And it’s not just the students who benefit from this. The good things going on in the ministry overflow into the life of the church. Speakers: Hannah McNeill, Rylee Lutes, Mesa Allison, Mic Biesboer
