The AME Radio Show - Amber Ahktar

Our guest today is Amber Akhtar, a 22-year-old filmmaker who grew up in Michigan. She just finished her BFA in Dramatic Writing with a minor in Producing at NYU Tisch. During her time at NYU, she wrote two features and many short films and worked on a thesis film selected for Tribeca 2022. She has interned for companies such as The Gotham Film and TV, Cinetic Media, and The Producers Guild.

She wrote the script for her new short film Cycle.  Cycle is about a young woman who spends the night at a laundromat struggling to wash the underwear she wore after having an abortion.

This film, despite being short, is one of the most powerful, emotion hitting films I've seen in a very long time.  We're here to talk to her about her budding career and this incredible film.
