I have listened to many episodes of America Dissected to make sure I am not siloed in an echo chamber of opinions I agree with and a reinforcing feedback loop of confirmation bias, but I am yet to agree with the stances of Dr. Abdul. Firstly, I do not want to disrespect Dr. Abdul or his credentials or background. He is a highly accomplished doctor with an impressive educational background and resume, I am sure he means well and has no bad intentions. However, most of his episodes are highly opinionated, where he uses an appeal to authority and lots of opinion to straw-man the argument of his opposition and berate their intelligence and stances. He uses little to no "science" to get his points across, and is very clearly biased to one side of the political spectrum; a trait that is completely backwards and contrary to the pursuit of truth. The episodes are just a stream of fear mongering and opinion where he uses no scientific data to back up his claims, pulling things out of context and painting every opinion but his own as nonsense and fiction. That is not how science has ever worked; science is a series of falsifyable hypotheses that are rigorously tested to gain an understanding of the world, not dogma and groupthink and a me vs. you herd mentality. My ask is that America Dissected uses more quantitative data and seeks to understand the opinions and stances of their opposition to form a better argument, not just opinion and insult. I am not an anti-vax right wing conspiracy theorist, and I am also not a neoliberal anti-Trumper, I am an independent who uses fact to form my view of the world, and I strongly disagree with those on both extremes of the spectrum. If you want unbiased information, listen to the Huberman Lab Podcast where Dr. Andrew Huberman brings on guests from across the spectrum and asks for quantitative fact to substantiate their arguments, not ideological gymnastics and opinion. Be on the side that seeks truth, not acceptance.

Dealing with chronic disease is no joke. Playing the victim card and ‘your privilege’ is optional. You don’t have ‘the privilege’ to pay your bills or have a spouse that takes care of you, you are fortunate that you have those. The ‘covid pandemic’ is over, otherwise everyone who has complications from the flu need to tie it back to the 1918/1919 flu pandemic. There are always people who will be dealt the difficult hand from any disease, it is how you continue life that either moves you forward, or keeps you in victimhood. I choose to move forward. Hugo perpetuates victimhood. This podcast as a whole mostly leaves me shaking my head. You cannot move forward or look for new ways. For many things, what is being talked about keeps Americans sick and with chronic disease. Update on 1 May podcast: Finally!!! Someone with common sense that put Katelyn in her place!!!!
