Realistic expectations

My husband and I have been listening for just over two years now. We found the podcast right before moving from the US to Zambia. We are living in Zambia now as Peace Corps volunteers and will be returning to the US next year. The transition from American life to a rural village life in Zambia was challenging- but the transition in our marriage was even more challenging. Listening to your podcast, specifically the marriage mornings, really helped us through a rough patch. Due to our living situation, finding a marriage counselor wasn’t an option. Just downloading the podcasts to our phones (and keeping them charged) to listen to them in an area without cellular network or electricity was a challenge, but was so worth it. We are so thankful to have found your podcast and have really enjoyed your episodes. We started doing the marriage mornings, by listening to your podcast and then doing the marriage morning ourselves. It became a great routine for us and helped us start our day by reminding ourselves that we’re on the same team, and our problems are not each other, but situations to be faced together. Thank you for all the information you provide! We really enjoy the Q&A episodes as well, because it helps us see that we aren’t the only couple facing issues and gives us hope that we too can make it through rough patches. Again, thanks for all you do!

Couldn’t listen to a whole episode

I don’t understand why Melanie cuts into Seth constantly. I feel like she’s always undermining him or cutting him off or not letting him talk.

Brutally honest

I’m a new listener so I started with old episodes but thank you all for being completely honest. Marriage is work. Love is a daily choice. My husband and I have been together 12 years and truthfully some of those were awful. I was awful, he was awful. But we both were willing to work on it and still do daily so our marriage continues to grow. Sometimes I feel so bad and don’t even see how we could even still be together with the way I Acted so it’s refreshing to hear someone actually share their good along with the bad.
