Join us for a discussion on all things Anawim Housing - Topics will range from our programs, to supportive services, new news, and new developments. We'll discuss how Anawim is working to address the affordable housing needs of our community today.
Housing and Healthcare
Research shows that the lack of safe, affordable housing can negatively impact health – and that housing interventions for low income people have been found to improve health outcomes and decrease health care costs. This podcast will explore the intersection and relationship between housing and healthcare and how housing is healthcare. Special guest: Shelby Ridley, Director of Homeless Support Services at Primary Health Care.
Using Data to Understand & End Homelessness
Did you know that every year our community works to count every individual experiencing homelessness on a single night in January? How does data drive solutions that can help our community end homelessness? You’ll hear the answers to these questions—and more—in a conversation between Ehren Stover-Wright, Senior Analyst at the Institute for Community Alliances and Cynthia Latcham, Director of Programs & Services at Anawim Housing.
Telling Anawim's Story
In our sixth episode, Anawim Housing President Russ Frazier interviews Director of Advancement, Hannah Landgraf. Hannah transitioned into the Advancement role for Anawim back in September after two years working as a Program Manager - providing her insight and experience working with our tenants in Permanent Supportive Housing. She comes to the position with passion, purpose, and a goal of widening and strengthening Anawim's circle of support through storytelling and relationship building.
The Journey From Homelessness To Housing
In our fifth episode, Anawim Housing President Russ Frazier interviews Bonnie and Tonya, two Anawim Permanent Supportive Housing program tenants, who share their unique and personal stories. Bonnie and Tonya are both participants in Anawim Housing's Full Circle program, and share of their journey from homelessness to housing. They each shine a light on what it is really like to experience homelessness and to have found stability through housing.
Programs, Stories From The Field
In our fourth episode, Anawim Housing President Russ Frazier interviews Program Manager Dan McBee about Anawim's Permanent Supportive Housing Programs. Dan shares stories from the field, the importance of building trust between clients, and the very real and positive effect having a home makes in someone's life.
