Actress, director, producer and author Brianna Davis @thebriannedavis joins today’s episode. Her new book “Secrets From A Recovering Hollywood Sex & Love Addict” reveals what sex and love addiction is, how we all have likely struggled with it and her 11 year journey to become “sober” from sex and love addiction.
Most people don’t know what sex and love addiction is, but for many it can be as serious as a drug, alcohol or work addiction.
So what is it? There are two sides. The sex side is when you’re addicted to the high of a sexual act - porn, one night stands, masturbation, cheating, DMs. On the love side it’s when you’re addicted to fantasy, falling in love, always searching for the person to come save or rescue you.
Brianne was inspired to write her book after a decade of sex and love addiction recovery. It hit her that people, including all bodies and backgrounds, have difficulty connecting. With all of the online apps and the Internet, society has created a false sense of intimacy. Brianne realized she needed to serve her community and began speaking worldwide on the subject. Speaking about her sex and love addiction was her calling.

FINALLY! a relationship podcast for the codependent/love addict
Yaaaaaaaas! As a codependent it’s hard to find a podcast that I can listen to and get actual valuable advice since I don’t think and behave in relationships like the average person. What works for most doesn’t work for the codependent and can actually lead to more compulsive and obsessive behavior. Very excited for this content!
These podcasts are a great outlet and resource to reclaim your time, be kind to yourself and take stock on what it is that you do or don’t bring to the table in life, with self, and with dating! A lot of them I found myself saying “nailed it” or nodding along in acknowledgment that I am responsible too!
