How to Radiate An Inner Glow

How to Radiate An Inner Glow

An inner glow alludes to more than just one’s outward appearance, but their internal health and vitality as well. It indicates great health and well-being. Contrary to popular belief, an inner glow is extremely achievable if one follows the correct steps to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will share some tips and tricks to attain an ‘inner glow.’ Your diet is of utmost importance as it has everything to do with your appearance. In Ayurveda, the sattvic diet comprises of consuming pure and organic foods. The goal of this diet is to deeply nourish the body and calm the mind down. Some foods that are generally eaten are whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds and seasonal fruits. By doing this, you automatically reduce the toxic load in your digestive system and keep the gut clean. Along with this, it is important to avoid foods with insecticides, pesticides, artificial colors and flavor enhancers – which lead to a toxic build up in the digestive system. Additionally, using high quality natural products made with time tested ingredients like all Apsara products, is important.

How to Manage Hair Fall using a Chlorine Filter

How to Manage Hair Fall using a Chlorine Filter

Hair fall, early greying and itchy, dandruff-prone hair are becoming more and more prevalent in women. A large contributing factor to these hair conditions is exposure to harsh chemicals which compromise the hair follicles. One may encounter these chemicals in haircare products containing SLS chemicals, parabens, petrochemicals and other harmful substances. Further, the quality of water used to wash one’s hair plays an imperative role in its appearance.
In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will share with you a simple tip to promote healthy hair by ensuring that the water you wash your hair with is clean and of the best quality possible. Often, changes in one’s environment such as moving to a new country and experiencing different quality off water can cause excess hair loss. Using a chlorine filter in the shower can help prevent this and promote healthy hair. This filter is small and extremely easy to install and use. Furthermore, follow up with a natural, time-tested ingredients-based haircare routine to take continuous and proper care of your hair.
In addition to this tip, Apsara’s Rosemary and Amla haircare set is free of harsh chemicals, gentle and effective in improving the quality and natural glow of your hair.

The Importance of Antioxidants in our Skincare Routine

The Importance of Antioxidants in our Skincare Routine

Antioxidants are compounds that slow down free radical damage that is going to our skin, hair or scalp. In this day, we are exposed to harsh chemicals on a daily basis, often resulting from environmental factors such as pollution. The increasing free radical damage in women attributes to early greying, rapid aging and hair loss.
In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will provide you with information on the importance of antioxidants and how to implement them into your daily skincare routine. Some foods that are rich in antioxidants are organic produce, as well as many fruits and vegetables. Further, adequate intake of Vitamin C and E are essential. Some sources of vitamin C are citrus and cucumber, while sources of Vitamin E include almond oil (used in many Apsara products) and dark chocolate, which also contains polyphenols. The Vitamin C Skin Glow serum is an Apsara product that is full of antioxidants and extremely beneficial towards slowing down free radical damage to your skin. The ROOP Saffron potion and the ROOP night serum - its nightly counterpart - are equally as antioxidant-rich due to the abundance of saffron in the products.

10 tips to reduce discoloration of skin

10 tips to reduce discoloration of skin

Discoloration of the skin is evident with darker or lighter markings on the skin as compared to the usual color of the skin. The pigment melanin is responsible for the color of our skin, which is why fluctuations in pigmentation can be attributed to increases or decreases in melanin. This causes discoloration and often dark spots as well, which are prevalent skin issues faced by many women.  In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will share with you 10 useful tips to reduce the discoloration of your skin. While minimizing skin exposure and avoiding tanning beds are imperative, having a natural, time-tested ingredients-based skincare routine will help you maintain a constant practice to reduce discoloration. Natural ingredients such as tomato paste and papaya supplement the skincare routine and can increase the antioxidant levels of the skin while providing repair and damage control. Other useful ingredients include green tea and coffee, which have excellent antioxidant properties, and aloe vera gel for its hydrating moisturizers. You can find home remedies containing these ingredients on our blog at www.apsaraskincare.com. In addition to these remedies, the Sandalwood Natural Facial Serum is designed to aid in sun protection, which makes it a valuable necessity - especially in the summer. Sandalwood itself is known to have skin calming, soothing and sun protection properties.

Impact of a Healthy Digestive System on the Skin

Impact of a Healthy Digestive System on the Skin

In Ayurveda, the health of the digestive system is everything. It is the foundation upon which the health of your skin and hair is built. Along with this comes the importance of gut health. Gut toxicity builds up over a period of time due to poor lifestyle choices and food pollution, amongst other reasons. Once a particular threshold of toxicity is reached, an intense toll is taken upon your general health and the health of your skin and hair.
In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will discuss some important lifestyle errors that you may be making unintentionally. For example, eating food with excess growth hormones, pesticides, flavor enhancers and color may lead to nutrition deficiencies.  In one case, protein synthesis suffers due to a zinc deficiency. Paying attention and actively working to combat them will help you decrease your gut toxicity and improve your overall health. An Apsara product that also aids in reducing the outward appearance of gut toxicity on the skin, is the Sandalwood Facial Serum.

Fuller’s Earth Remedy to Balance Combination Skin

Fuller’s Earth Remedy to Balance Combination Skin

Combination skin is characterized by skin that may be oil in some areas, but dry or normal in others. It is effectively a ‘combination’ of different skin types. Although establishing skincare practices for this skin type may sound difficult, Apsara has multiple DIY remedies and product recommendations for individuals to use in an effort to combat both blackhead eruptions and issues that come with taking care of combination skin.

In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal will share with you a simple home remedy to balance out combination skin. The remedy prominently features Fuller’s Earth (also known as Multani Mitti in Hindi), nutmeg powder and tomato juice. Fuller’s Earth acts as a detoxifier which also reduces the appearance of blackheads and whiteheads, and decongests clogged pores. On the other hand, nutmeg has anti-inflammatory, skin-pacifying properties while tomato juice is an important source of vitamin C – an anti-oxidant which aids in free radical damage repair. The remedy can be used once a week and should be followed up with an adequate toner, serum or lotion afterwards. In addition to the remedy, the Neem Facial Cleanser is designed to balance out combination skin and like all Apsara products, contains no harsh chemicals.

So informative!! “All natural is good karma”

Just listened to Sheetal and Nikki’s most recent podcast on 2 Homemade Hair Masks for Dry Hair! I found it so informative. About a year ago I switched to a plant-based diet and threw away all my chemical based cosmetics/haircare items and I’ve never looked back! Lately I’ve been struggling with dry hair and split ends so I can wait to try one of these masks this week. I think the podcast was effective, to the point, and really informative into the science as to why these masks will help my hair. Thanks Apsara!

Love apsara skincare

I recently listed the podcast where sheetal talks about diet and exercise. She talks about how to live simple life without harming animals. I started using apsara products because they are all natural .I have been using apsara dry skincare products for over a year and it worked wonders for me. It keeps my skin hydrated and soft since its all natural and cruelty free. I have less dark circles than before since i started using under eye serum from apsara.I think apsara skin care is doing wonderful. I wish they make natural eyeshadows because my skin is very sensitive. I love apsara skincare and I don’t go day without it.
