This is the funniest podcast I’ve ever heard. Seriously. I really want to hang out with these people.
Great podcast even if you are not familiar with the source material
I knew nothing of the Are You Afraid of the Dark show when I first saw this podcast pop up on social media. I dig the hosts’ aesthetic, and being a horror caster myself, always check out other shows. The sense of community in the Horror World is a great thing, so I try to “spread the love.” I purchased the first season of AYAotD on Prime for a few bucks and began watching, only to lose interest relatively fast. Without a nostalgic connection, I just couldn’t connect. But then a funny thing happened; I started listening to this show and really liked it. The best podcasts often use their source material as a jumping off point for all manner of other discussions, and thus is the case here. I listened to a handful of episodes, then found myself wanting to go back and watch the corresponding episodes of the show to follow the discussion.
That’s a great podcast - one that builds the listener’s connection to its topic in reverse.
I really dig Are You Afraid of Are You Afraid of the Dark, and absolutely feel anyone into the genre will as well, even if like me, the source material isn’t something you’re familiar with. Chances are, if you love Horror, you’ll love hearing these folks talk about it.
Hey bud, hey bud! great show!
