Community Care Connections "Ruckus For All: Include! Empower! Connect!" Fundraising Event
This week's episode features the return of one of our fantastic non-profits in Butler County, Community Care Connections. Keara Trepanier and Nathan Slupe join the show to talk about what their organization does and their upcoming fundraising event!
CCC will be hosting their first-ever Ruckus For All: Include, Empower, Connect! Fundraising event on August 22nd from 12pm-6pm at the 11th Frame Bar & Grille in Butler. There will be food trucks, live music, DJ, kids activities, 50/50 raffle, basket auction and a dunk tank. Hear all about the local celebrities that are volunteering to be dunked in the dunk tank!
There will also be a Cornhole Tournament starting at 3pm. It is $50 per team, 20 minute double-elimination games. First place receives $250 and Second place receives $100.

Cranberry CTCC Community Days & Hunting Nostalgia
Cranberry Township Community Chest is getting ready to host CTCC Community Days on July 8th-10th at Cranberry Community Park. This event promises to be a celebration of the community that has come together during this pandemic. That, after all, is the spirit of CTCC: helping make the community better each day. Free Admission for everyone.
-CTCC Community Days will be open Thursday: 4-10pm, Friday 4pm-10pm, Saturday 1pm-11pm

2021 Moraine State Park Regatta
Summer is finally here and one of the best events in Western Pennsylvania will be here before we know it! The 2021 Moraine State Park Regatta will be held August 6th-8th at the Moraine State Park South Shore. Amanda Becker, owner of Appleseed Events LLC and Event Director, joins the show to share all of the fun and exciting events planned for the entire weekend.
The Moraine State Park Regatta aims to showcase eco-recreational activities for all ages and promote Moraine State Park. Featuring water and land recreational opportunities for all ages, nature-themed experiences and vendors from the local community, the event has something for everyone.
There will be lessons and outings available for attendees throughout the weekend will include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailboat rides, guided hikes, yoga, tai chi, and more. A full schedule of available events is linked below and free sign-ups are now available. All attendees must register for activities online and sign a general waiver to participate.
Join the Regatta and release a Monarch butterfly in honor of a special someone, in memory of a loved one, or just for fun! Monarch butterflies are now available for pre-purchase (see below).
Claim your pre-purchased butterfly at the table that corresponds with the first letter of the purchaser’s last name between 2:30-3:30 PM on Sunday, August 8th. This release fills the sky with the color and movement of one of nature’s most beautiful creatures, the Western Pennsylvania Monarch. After 4:00 PM, individuals who pre-purchased Monarchs are welcome to release their butterflies in private, or alongside the mass release. Names (in honor of/in memory of) that were included at the time of purchase will be listed on the Regatta website. At 4:00 PM, we will present a mass release of nearly 500 butterflies.

Shanea Clancy, Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Butler VA
This week's episode features a guest that we're honored to have as suicide prevention needs to be discussed and talked about in our local communities. Shanea Clancy, Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Butler Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, joins the show to talk about all of the new programs the Butler VA is offering to help prevent suicide.
We start the show by discussing the treatment programs the Butler VA has expanded to provide Veterans. One of those programs, Suicide Prevention, is our main topic for the episode. Shanea goes in-depth to talk about suicide prevention, common myths & misinformation, and risk factors.
Shanea talks about the S.A.V.E. model which is an acronym for:
Signs of Suicidal thinking
Validate the person's experience
Encourage treatment and Expedite getting help
We end the show with a few additional comments from Shanea along with a success story she had with a fellow Veteran that you won't want to miss.
