248: Your marriage is your ashram with Jenny Glick
Today I am SO excited to introduce you to one of my sweetest friends, Jenny Glick.
Jenny is a licensed marriage and family therapist and AASECT certified sex therapist who has been working families, couples and individuals for over 20 years.(yet she still looks 20. Go figure.)
The women she works with have read books, articles, and watched loads of videos online about communication, relationships, intimacy, and spiritual connection. They have gone to therapy and often LOVE their therapist but have lackluster results in creating real change in their intimate relationships.
The women Jenny serves are successful in so many aspects of their lives but their marriage or intimate relationships fall flat. They feel like they are trapped and suffocating in a relationship that simply isn’t a reflection of who they REALLY are.
As an expert mentor and way-shower (which I love that, by the way… A Way-shower! yes!), Jenny guides women in how to embody their highest potential at any given moment in their relationship. Through radical accountability, a strategic step-by-step plan, daily practices, personalized daily support, and community connections, Jenny walks women from where they are now (point A) to where they want to be in their lives (point B) in 8 weeks or less. The first step to marital transformation is personal transformation and that transformation begins by thinking, feeling, acting, and believing in a radically new way. Jenny has a map to get you there.!

247: Are you abandoning yourself?
Today Betsy talks about a very personal story where she describes a moment in life where she stopped abandoning herself and how she shifting on to something new.
We hope it inspires you to be brave, listen in and find the resources you need to shift to higher possibility.
Welcome to The Art of Living big. I’m your host, Betsy Pake. I’m an author, speaker, a master hypnotherapist and NLP coach. And I help high achievers rewire for success. If you’re ready for the next level, you’re in the right place. Over the next 30 minutes, I hope to help you redefine what could be possible for your life. Now, let’s go live big. Hello fellow adventurers, welcome to today’s show. So I had this whole, like, I have like a laundry list of these little things that I wanted to talk about. And none of them seem together to go together. I was like, do I do like the most random show with all these like weird thoughts I’m having I, you know, I have my text community, if you’re in if you’re in there, you know what I mean? Where I text you, the thoughts that come up, when I have done, I call it my meditation, but it is a form of meditation, it’s when I ask my inner guides, or my higher self, or whatever, what it is, I need to know. And I always get something that I think is really interesting. And so I share that on my text list. So you can join that if you want, you just have to text like hello to 770-343-3409. And, um, it’ll be an automated message, you have to click the link to click the link so that I can actually start messaging you. So that’s the only automated part after that. It’s actually just me. Um, so anyway, so I send out those those messages. And sometimes people say, I really like your brain. And I kind of laugh like, I’m glad you enjoy my brain. So I thought, do I just do this random show, where I share these like pieces of the things that I’ve been thinking, but I’m not going to do all that I am going to give you a couple quick thoughts. And then I have a story to tell you. So I saw this is one of the random things that I think about. I saw Kourtney Kardashian posted a picture of her holding hands with Travis Barker. I guess that was like they’re announcing their relationship. Now I am not. I just started following Kourtney Kardashian on Instagram like I don’t. I like having the Kardashians on sometimes, like in the background, if I’m cleaning or something, you know what I’m saying. But I’m not like, I’m not following every little thing. They do all that just to say, when I saw it was Travis Barker reminded me of an interesting story about him that I wanted to share. So years ago, I read if you don’t know who Travis Barker is, he’s a musician. And he is the drummer for blink 182. In fact, I may have even talked about him on the show before, he’s covered in tattoos, like you know, his face, his neck, his hands, you know what I mean? Like the whole nine yards. So when they were holding hands in the picture, it was obvious it was him because his hand was all tattooed. But years ago, I read this story about him and how he had this dream that he wanted to be a drummer and be in a band and be really popular. And that’s what he wanted to do with his whole life. And so he started getting tattoos, so that he would be on hireable. But nobody else would be able to hire him because he would have all these tattoos all over his neck and his face and his hands and whatever, like he would have it was his version of burning the boat. Right? Have you ever heard that before? Like, you burn the boats, this is the only option. So there’s no other way, there’s no plan B, there’s nothing else that I can do.
246: Being congruent for more confidence
Today Betsy talks about how to have your values and beliefs aligned with your mission so you can live a life of more confidence, happiness, and energy!
Welcome to The Art of Living big. I’m your host, Betsy Pake. I’m an author, speaker, a master hypnotherapist and NLP coach, and I help high achievers rewire for success. If you’re ready for the next level, you’re in the right place. Over the next 30 minutes, I hope to help you redefine what could be possible for your life. Now, let’s go live big. Hello, welcome fellow adventurers. Hey, everybody, I’m excited to be here with you today, you know, I have been gone for the past few days. First of all, if you’re new here, thank you for being here. Welcome. This is sort of, if you’re new here, this is sort of like a community effort. I feel like I get feedback from you guys either on social media or through my email, and then I create the episodes that you want to hear. So today, I’m going to talk about something specific that I have been hearing a lot about. But also I want to just give you a quick update. Because I had a lot of thoughts over the last few days, we headed out on Monday morning to North Carolina, I live in Atlanta. And we headed out to North Carolina to go to my husband’s cousin’s funeral. He was pretty young. I originally I thought he was 59. He was 61. And he had colon cancer and fought a really long battle. And you know, those things, especially when it’s someone that is so young, I know, you might, if you’re in your like, your 20s, you might not that young, but it’s not that much older than me, right? I’m about to turn 50. So I’ve, it feels like, Oh my gosh, there’s still so much life ahead, right? It feels cut short to me. And so in that, you know, we had a lot of discussions and a lot of talks about life and things we want to do. And I think anytime I go to a funeral, and you know, I get inspired by other people’s lives and how they lived, and you know, how many friends they had, and the people that show up in the things that they say about them, it always makes me think like, Where could I be doing? I want to say more? Where can I be? We’re gonna work? Where could my life be even more robust? Right? Like, could I be taking way better care of my health? Are there things I need to do there? Are there? Are there more adventures that I could have? Are there deeper friendships that I need to work on? That makes you kind of evaluate things? You know, a few weeks ago, I did an episode on a self audit. And you know, that I kind of set up a self audit in terms of like my schedule in my day, but I think you can, I know, you can self audit, for lots of different areas. And in this experience of, of going there and, and, and being at the funeral and being inspired. It made me think about doing a self audit in different areas, too. So I share that with you in case that’s where you are where you’re like, you know, there’s more I know, I can expand into more. And I just need like a little guidance that the second thing that I will say is if that’s you, if you’ve had that thought, and when I said that you felt something, we really, really need to get on the mailing list on my mailing list. For the alchemy collective, we’re going to be opening it up again next month. And the alchemy collective, you know, the more that I get feedback from people, the more that I’m in groups, the more I’m learning about things, the more I believe that the alchemy collective is the best place to be if you want regular, regular self growth, if you want to expand and get new ideas, and be around a community that’s helping you rise to a greater level. You know, at the beginning of the year, I was thinking about the alchemy collective,
245: Laura Carney: Living My Fathers Bucket List
Today on the show I interview Laura Carney.
When she was 25 years old, her father was killed by a driver who ran a red light while talking on her cell phone. His life was cut short before he was able to do all he’d set out to do (including watching his children start their careers and get married). In November 2016, her brother discovered a list that her dad wrote when he was 29. The title of the list: “Things I Would Like to Do in My Lifetime!” The first item: “I would like to live a long, healthy life at least to the year 2020.” Because he was killed in 2003, this goal was rendered impossible.
But she believes that when you write down a goal, one way or another, it will be accomplished. As her brother and she read her father’s list, they realized they’d already done a lot of it. And then her husband and she knew what she had to do.She had to finish the list.
Listen in as we talk about life, death and living your dreams. This was a really fun interview for me and I’m excited to share it with you!

Welcome fellow adventurers. Alright, so I’m really excited today because I have my friend, Laura Carney with me now, Laura and I met, I think you can correct me, Laura. But I think we met like in a group, a coaching group that we’re both part of. I’m a big fan of all things adventure coaching. And, and we just kind of connected there. And then we started following each other on Instagram. And she’s doing something so cool. And if you’ve been listening to the show for a while, you know my story. So you can see why this would be like something that went right into my heart. So I wanted to have her on to talk a little bit about it. So Laura, welcome to the show. I’m so excited that you’re here.
Thank you for having me. I’m excited to be here.
Tell everybody a little bit. Tell everyone a little bit about you. And then we can kind of dive into what you’re doing.
So I joined 30 days of excellence. My husband was in that group. I think that’s where we met.
Yeah, I think that is Yeah,
yeah, part of why I joined that was just, you know, it was really helpful during the pandemic to be meeting with like minded people. And, you know, starting the pandemic was actually kind of different for me than I feel like it is for a lot of people, because, you know, everyone kept talking about all the uncertainty and how they just like, didn’t know what they were going to do next. But like I had been basically doing this project of checking off my late father’s bucket list for three years and trying to write a book about it. So I had gotten really uncomfortable with uncertainty at that point, because yeah, 54 different items. And they’re all you know, they’re they’re packed with uncertainty, everything that I do so.
So you had sort of gotten to the point where uncertainty was not a, it was not a stranger to

Over the next 30 minutes, I hope to help you redefine what could be possible for your life. Now, let’s go live big. Hello fellow adventurers, welcome to today’s show. It’s been a little while y’all if you are regular listeners, thanks. Thanks for hanging in there.
We’re back at a regular time. So I have a couple quick updates and then I want to talk to you about something that I have been doing that might help you to propel you forward with whatever it is that you’ve been dreaming or thinking about, or being excited about in your life. All right, so I got home from my trainers training so if you’re new here, welcome. I have been trying to get to this trainers training for over a year trying to get to go to this trainers training so that I could become a trainer of NLP hypnotherapy success coaching EFT. Time techniques, which is really powerful. I use it a lot in my coaching. And so I decided at the beginning of 2020 that I wanted to be an expert in NLP, I was already a master certified NLP practitioner. But I found a company that years ago, I had taken my hypnotherapy certification with. And I really liked them. And so I thought I want to take their trainers training, so I can become a trainer because I thought, if I could become a trainer, I would be an expert, right. And so I reached out to them to take their trainers, but they wanted me to take all of their training first. So they wanted me to take their NLP certification, their success coaching certification, their master cert and then then take the trainers. So, you know, I thought about it, it was a big expense, right? And a time expense plus a hotel expense, right? So I’m like, do I really want to put that much into it? And I decided for me, like, I feel like this is my life’s work. And so why would I put, you know, I would buy a new car, but I wouldn’t put money into myself. Like that didn’t make sense to me when I thought about it like that. So I decided to do it. But then, of course, I was through the core coaching, I was through the NLP practitioner cert when in halfway through master prac, when it all fell apart. So COVID hit, I was actually out in California. And I had to come home in the middle of it. And because I had to leave in the middle and the class ended, I actually left a day or two before the class officially ended, you know, fish officially stopped. And so I had to retake the entire thing. So I had to find a time when there was an entire class being held. And again, because the COVID classes weren’t being held, like everything was being delayed, and I don’t know about you guys, but when I have something that like, is like outstanding, I feel like I gotta get it done before other things can fall into place. Now, that is not necessarily a good thing. Sometimes it can be okay, but it’s not necessarily a good thing. So it’s something that I had to really look at.
243: Shifting Negative Thoughts
Today Betsy shares some strategies to shift negative thoughts so you can become the most resourceful version of you!

Hey, good morning, fellow adventurers. I know I’m late on my podcast, I’m late or I’m early, because I could be early for this coming week, and just late for last week. If you’re new here, welcome. Welcome to the show. So so I have been at training for the past 10 days. You know, last, the last episode that we had, I talked about my process for really starting new and going diving into the new year. Now, one thing I forgot to mention, if you’re on my email list, you got this, but I’m gonna say it here, just in case you didn’t, I forgot, like the very last cool thing that I do at the end. But after I go through my whole process, and I, you know, really listen to my intuition, and I talked to my higher nowhere. And I get all of these awesome little things for how I should be moving forward, I write a letter to myself, and I go to future mi.org. And I set it up so that that letter gets delivered to me on the last day of the coming year. So a year from now. So I wanted to share that, in case you did all of that work. And then you want to be able to, I just write myself a letter, and I just describe exactly how excited I am and how all of this stuff happened and how it came. So magically. And it was when I was relaxed and not thinking about it, you know all the things
as if it’s already happened, right, because it’s a letter to myself in the future. And then it’s always really fun to get the letter at the end of the year. Now I use future media org lots of times in the in in the year, sometimes I’ll set like a three month goal, and then I’ll write that letter to myself. And I think the thing that makes it so powerful, but besides it being really fun to get the letter, it’s really powerful because you are writing as if it’s done, and that’s speaking to your subconscious mind, right. So anyway, I wanted to make sure that I mentioned that before we dove into today’s show. So I do have a fun story for you that I want to share. And then I’ve got some ideas and ways that you can start to shift, some negative self talk. So let’s dive into that a little bit, because that’s a question I’ve been getting a lot lately. Now. Today, if you’re listening to the show today, today is going to be the last day to dive into the alchemy collective, which is my membership. I’ve changed it up this year. And we’re going to be focusing on things for each quarter. And so this first quarter, we’re focusing on reality and like what makes up your reality and shifting that reality. So it best serves you and then we’ve got themes for the coming year. So if you want to join us jump in there today it is alchemy. It’s Betsy pake.com slash alchemy collective. And that’ll bring you right to it. And then you can join us. Be sure if you do it join the Facebook group because that’s really where a lot of the community stuff goes down. And I go in there live a lot and it’s just kind of a fun, lively community. I love the people in there. Alright. Okay, so this week, I am at a training.

Thank you for episode 235!
I loved it - amazing insights. I’m definitely with you out on that raft. :-)
Betsy is a great advisor!
Somehow every time I listen to Betsy’s podcast, it seems to be what I need to hear in that moment! I feel like I’m connecting with a friend who knows what I’m thinking and shows me the ways I need to shift out of the thinking that is holding me back. I consider her one of my “advisors” (nod to the episode I just listened to!) and I am so thankful for this podcast!
I’m really enjoying the show, the content and in the homes manner in which it’s presented. Incredibly helpful - I’m looking forward to going back and get caught up on all past episodes.
