Art of the Short is an Interactive Literary Art Installation and Podcast. Every other week, hosts Jori and Bethers, overextend our opinions on short stories, written by your favorite authors. Then we make ART of our interpretations! Like, Bethers will be guilty of “Georgia O'Keeffe”–ing labia onto a tote bag as a protest to misogyny, “FREE THE VULVA!” While Jori writes a little diddy that just loops, “F*** PATRIARCHY!…stuff like that.
Lil’ Shorties! Our Lil’ Shorty episodes feature the not so known story tellers, where we read a short story by YOU, and of course we’ll make art of our interpretations!
We invite you to read along with us and join the conversation by sending in your artwork to add to the gallery! We want to hear your thoughts on these short stories, we want YOUR perspective–that’s what this project is all about!
For more information go to Artoftheshort.com and follow the installation on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, @artoftheshort to see what others think of these short stories through their art!
FUN FACT: We provide a free link to all short stories in our show notes for you–thoughtfully curated by our very own Bethers herself!

Jori & Bethers Say Farewell...For Now.

Jori & Bethers Say Farewell...For Now.

If you didn’t catch the end of our last episode, here is a clip of us saying farewell...for now. And please keep reading this prompt, because we love you and want to say, “thank you!”
It’s time for us to say, farewell!
...I mean...really, what do we say? From water color d**k art, to original music!? Simply, amazing. We have been continuously W O W E D through this experience and have witnessed how powerful it is when artists support artists, and it’s truly been a magical f**king blast. To feel like you’re in a perpetual state of falling in love is a pretty amazing thing to have experienced and that’s what this project has been for us–falling in love with all of you artists over and over and over. And we will thank you, forever, for letting us be a part of that!
Do we continue this project sans pod? We aren’t sure what that would look like, but we do know that not getting to live in this space will ache our lil’ artist hearts........sooo, who knows? We’re certainly not against evolving into something new...
To all of the publishers and of course, our gorgeous Lil’ Shorty writers, you are such an inspiration! Please, NEVER, EVER stop giving us a reason to MAKE ART!
We are SO grateful to each and every one of you for supporting this project, WE LOVE YOU, & farewell, for now!
    Xoxo, Jori&Bethers
P.S. Bethers has left a handful of short stories for you to read as a lil’ parting gift, which you can find here: Art of the Short story links!

Artfan0000 ,

LOVE these two!

My favorite part is listening to the description of the art they made for each story, then hopping onto my socials to see what they described! So fun, often times funny, but also thoughtful, sweet, endearing. Like I said, LOVE this pod/art project!

mishafry ,

Love it

Love this show. The chemistry between Bethers and Jori is fantastic. They have so much fun and makes the 30 minutes go by in the blink of an eye. I love how they introduce me to literature that I would probably not have found. Thank you. Can’t wait until next week for another episode.
