How to Creatively Solicit an Art Gallery
How to Creatively Solicit an Art Gallery
Produced by Artifications.com.
Many artists desire to show their art in a controlled gallery setting. Artifications goes through a number of items to consider en route to this goal, including questions to ask yourself, and starting where you're at.
Artifications then dives into the different path of Outsider artists and pedigree artists. The video then discusses the viability of art fairs, art festivals, international art fairs, local art groups, art cooperatives, and Urban Enterprise zones. The goal of the production is to spur artists towards showing their art in any way they can!
The music performed was created live specifically for the purposes of using it for this video. -
Gage Branda of AVAM and a Talk on the Baltimore Art Scene.
Welcome to Baltimore and the American Visionary Art Museum. The dynamic rotating exhibitions, really speak to the AVAMs prodigious use of space, making the building seem less like a collection of collections, and more one seamless Art installation. But the stories, Particularly the stories found in the museums permanent collection speak to the heart of the AVAM mission. There are certain running themes; mostly About a compulsion to create for the purposes of personal transmutation.
What is being transmuted is often a discomfort or acknowledgment of sorts between the artist and their interpretation of the world around them;
often time speaking to something like pain, or confusion.
I asked Gage to point out a favorite of his.

Interview with UNO Art Professor Tony Campbell
Interview with UNO Art Professor Tony Campbell
The journey of being an artist can be highly introspective; a long process of evaluation and revaluation. The resulting pieces of art are a direct result of these internal value structures we create. This was evident during a recent visit to The Mint, home to the New Orleans Jazz museum and a small permanent installation about currency on the ground floor, our ultimate destination.

Interview with New Orleans Curator Gabriel Shaffer of Mortal Machine Gallery
Interview with New Orleans Curator Gabriel Shaffer of Mortal Machine Gallery
The magic of 507 Frenchman was short lived, but the gallery did manage to find its forever home at 940 Royal St. Oddly enough, this was the location of one of my favorite galleries in New Orleans: Red Truck. The name was familiar to me, due to our previous visits and their active work participating in various art fairs. It was fantastic luck that brought me into communication with one of Mortal Machine’s owners, Gabriel Shaffer, where I could produce something of value.

Interview with New Orleans Artist Mary T. Scinto
The French Quarter is wild, photogenic, and historic. It is filled with memories and has been the source of countless inspirations. The kind that causes a person to change every aspect of their lives. At a time where large swaths of the population have left their original jobs in search of better paying opportunities, many of them were energizing entrepreneurial pursuits in the artistic realm.

Mr. Ramos really brings the city of Denver inside the listener's head in the debut episode. I anxiously await more cities in future episodes. Might I suggest Detroit?
