Episode 48 - Arts Everywhere - "Later Life, Creative Life" with Betsy Rosenwald

This is the third in a special series entitled "Later Life, Creative Life", which explores what a creative life looks like in artists ages 60 and up. If this episode were to have a secondary title, it would be "The Emancipation of Betsy Rosenwald." Betsy's choice of the word "emancipation" profoundly reflects this statement. Based in Saskatoon, Betsy Rosenwald is the 2025 Artist-in-Residence at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, making her the first Jewish artist to hold this prestigious title at the museum. Her latest exhibit, "To Understanding, Through Understanding" (January 29 – May 2, 2026), delves into her exploration of Ukrainian Jewish roots, complementing her longstanding awareness of her Russian Jewish heritage. This exhibit not only deepens her connection to her Jewish heritage but also resonates with her identity in a world marred by increasing antisemitism and political unrest. Episode 43 - Arts Everywhere - "Coalition of the Willing" - The Canadian Arts Coalition

The state of the arts in Canada is a delicate balance. While many of us hope for larger budget increases, even modest gains—especially when other sectors receive far more, deserve genuine gratitude. When advocating for additional funding, it’s crucial to have strong allies. Host Em Ironstar, Sarah Iley, Karla Etienne, and Simon Mallett;  members of the Canadian Arts Coalition, are exactly the supporters we need. Their volunteer dedication and lobbying efforts at the governmental level are helping to move Canada’s arts forward. www.rozsafoundation.com                   https://www.linkedin.com/company/rozsafoundation https://www.instagram.com/rozsafoundation/ Canadian Arts Assembly:  https://www.cda-acd.ca Furies Festival: https://furiesfestival.com/en/ CAC Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/artscoalitionca/ https://www.cda-acd.ca/its-arts-day-on-the-hill-in-ottawa-write-to-your-mp https://canadianartscoalition.com/campaign-for-culture-2025 Thank you to SaskCulture, SKArts, and Sask Lotteries for your generous support. Episode 41 - Arts Everywhere - The Manitou Beach Literary Festival - with Miguel Fenrich, Tai Reign, & Jack Walton

Recorded live in August 2025, the Manitou Beach Literary Festival celebrates the diversity of Saskatchewan's authors and literary community. Join author Miguel Fenrich and the 2025 Youth Poet Laureate, Tai Reign in conversation about Tai's work, how they manage self-care, and some deep insights on society today. Miguel is a queer, Sudanese-Canadian professional artist living and playing on Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatoon. As a truth-teller, his work often explores community/culture/care and their messy relationships with truth through an intersectional, decolonial lense. He is the author of Blue: a Novel and What Lies in the Valley. He is the President of the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild and is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal. He is working on his third novel + many other things. Tai Reign is a Two-Spirit artist from Peepeekisis Cree Nation based in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a young artist, they've used spoken word as an avenue of self expression. Collaborating with artists from different disciplines has helped them find a sense of connection and play in art and storytelling.  Links related to this episode: Read more about Tai Reign Read more about Miguel Fenrich Manitou Beach Literary Festival Facebook page Saskatchewan Book Awards Saskatchewan Writers Guild Thank you to SaskCulture, SKArts, and Sask Lotteries for your generous support.
