    Having served as concert master of the orchestra of the Royal Opera House since 1999, Peter has also recently been appointed as Guest Conductor for the Dallas Opera in Texas.

    He is also the Founder, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Manning Camerata and in addition to his work in the UK, Peter also spent 3 years as Music Director of Musica Vitae and last year he was appointed Artistic Director of the 3 Palaces Festival in Malta.

    This interview was recorded in Malta last November at the Manoel Theatre during the 3 Palaces Festival.

    Episode No, 6 is with Oussama Rifahi, Executive Director of the Arab Fund for Arts & Culture (AFAC) based in Beirut.

    Established in 2007, the organisation has funded 800 projects in 18 Arab Countries and continues to facilitate cultural exchange both in the Arab world and internationally. Oussama Rifahi was appointed Executive Director in 2010 and his previous work includes roles as Managing Director for Museum Development in New York with Global Cultural Asset Management and as Director of Special Projects for the Guggenheim Foundation. As a cultural consultant, he has also advised a wide range of organisations in Europe, the Middle East and central Asia.

    In the fourth episode, Brian speaks to Arundhati Ghosh who is the Executive Director of the India Foundation for the Arts based in Bangalore.

    With a corporate background and qualifications in economics and management Arundhati Ghosh is also an accomplished dancer and poet with a driving passion for the arts and culture. She joined the India Foundation for the Arts in 2000 as its first fundraiser and was appointed Executive Director in 2013. In 2010, she received a Global Fundraiser Award and in the same year, the IFA was awarded the India NGO of the Year award.

    In this interview, Arundhati speaks about her own background an dthe work of the IFA, but she also offers a valuable insight into cultural diplomacy, arts funding and the politics of culture from her perspective.

    In the 3rd episode of Arts Leaders Podcast, Robert Palmer speaks to Brian O' Regan at the 7th World Summit on Arts & Culture in Malta.

    This episode is the first of many recorded at the Arts Summit and I would like to say a huge thank you to IFACCA (the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies) and Arts Council Malta for helping to organise interviews with 15 people from 11 different countries including Cambodia, Israel, Palestine, Africa, India and Singapore.

    This episode features an interview with Robert Palmer, an independent consultant from the UK. Robert has worked for almost 25 years on a number of different European Capital of Culture projects as well as spending 7 years as the Director of Culture and Culture & National Heritage for the Council of Europe in Strassbourg and working as an advisor to UNESCO and the European Commission.

    The discussion covers the European Capital of Culture initiative in general as well as Robert's work with the city of Galway, Ireland (Capital of Culture - 2020) and Valletta’s 2018 ECoC designation. This interview was recorded at the 7th World Summit on Arts & Culture in Malta with the generous assistance of IFACCA and Arts Council Malta.
