Hello. This is Byron Katie, and I welcome you to the “At Home with Byron Katie” podcast.

Each week, you’ll find me here with a different guest as we inquire into the cause of all suffering and how to end it. I SO love what each guest brings to the table, and I hope that you will too.

Is there a problem in your world? Is there someone in your life, past or present, who resembles my guest or the person to whom my guest is relating?

Invite your mind to stillness, relax, pay attention moment by moment as you join us from wherever you are, as you relate what you hear to your own life, and experience the internal thrill of enlightenment—not only as some exalted state of mind but as the elementary, doable, down-to-earth experience of understanding the cause of all suffering and how to end it.

We exercise our bodies, but what about our minds? Think of this podcast as mental hygiene. I marvel at the courage, depth and humor that each guest brings to the table and invite you to get quiet, relax, move attention to your breath, open your heart and mind to inquiry. Now meet my next guest and let’s do The Work.

#4:My Father Wastes His Life in Anger

My guest this week is Christina. She comes with internal judgments on her father and how he really wastes his life in anger. Christina shows us the power of slowing down and how to get still, sitting in the experience of inquiry. Sit with us as we witness Christina’s father transform from an irresponsible, pathetic, blind, and uncaring dad, as miraculous as it may seem, to a responsible, lovely, understanding, and caring dad. xo bk

mental freedom

I have changed a lot since starting inquiry and feel as if I have a long way to go. Battling addiction, depression, grief and the feelings that result from trauma seem overwhelming but listening to Katie and doing The Work really gives me hope. Maybe that one day I'll shed more quickly and be able to live more clearly and stop fighting my self in my head. I have many days and at sometimes months of feeling balanced and free. I feel grateful to have a modern day teacher to speak to the modern world in a way that is updated even tho the lessons are all the same from ancient times.

Transformational

Ever since I started doing the work my life has transformed in miraculous ways. I’ve lost weight, I’ve stopped drinking and many other miracles have shown up. My life is much deeper, richer and there’s much more beauty in my life. I’ve had breakthroughs with my relationship with both my parents. The work has also supported me through painful memories and grief. This is a miracle and the work is powerful, transformative and deep. Thank you Katie for all that you do to the planet.

Removal of the veil of illusion

What I really love about the process of the work is that it does not add to my beliefs or thought processes. The act of going into enquiry, declutters and points a flashlight onto where the grief is coming from, not from the person or situation but my belief in the thought. Listening to Katie facilitate others into enquiry helps me understand better ways to facilitate enquiry for myself. I love her clarity. Thank you Katie and your wonderful team for these podcasts!
