BRB! Busy Relishing in Babytime!
We have a very special guest on today’s chat! We welcomed our baby boy and are over the moon to be starting this next chapter of our adventure together. We’re taking a little break from the podcast to enjoy this time as we navigate our new roles as parents (and try to catch some zzz’s… although that's probably wishful thinking!). We’ll be back with lots of questions and reflections. Until then, we’ll just be right here, soaking it all in (literally)… Thank you for all the love and support!
Stem Cells, Cord Blood and Tissue, Oh My! with Dr. Jaime Shamonki
We’ve received a lot of great advice from friends and family as we prep to welcome our first baby! One of our friends told us about cord blood storage - something we knew nothing about. After looking into it, we decided to hop on a chat with Dr. Jaime Shamonki, Chief Medical Officer at Cord Blood Registry, to talk all about the science and the why behind collecting and storing our baby’s cord blood and tissue.
Anatomy of Anxiety with Dr. Ellen Vora
Dr. Vora is a holistic psychiatrist, acupuncturist, and yoga teacher. She takes a functional medicine approach to mental health—considering the whole person and addressing imbalance at the root. Betches Mom, Aleen Dreksler, talks Adjusting to Motherhood
For some real, non-sugarcoated advice on the messiness of motherhood, we chat with Aleen Dreksler, co-founder and CEO of Betches Media!
Autism Awareness with Jeff Ullrich
Our friend, Jeff Ullrich, joins us to answer our questions about autism. April is Autism Awareness Month and we’re excited to understand more from Jeff, who learned that he was autistic in January 2020, at the age of 45.
Kindness with Kid of the Year, Orion Monaco Jean
Orion Jean is an 11-year old who, in July 2020, was selected as the National Kindness Speech Contest Winner. Upon winning, he created his own "Race to Kindness" events to help spread kindness around the world, including collecting 100,000 meals for food-insecure families, and collecting 500,000 books for kids in book deserts!
Definitely worth listening!
I just listened to Drew & Linda’s podcast where they talk about what they want to learn for the year. It was so interesting & has spurred me on to being intentional & actually writing out the things I want to learn. Three things seems too ambitious for me as I have health issues, but two things to focus on learning feels very attainable! I liked how Drew referenced the “75/25” rule for learning, ex: 75% of the time I will purpose to do the thing, but will give myself the grace of 25% leeway for things, unexpected or otherwise, that keep me from accomplishing my goal. That is so freeing to someone like myself with a bent towards perfectionism & discouragement when I can’t or don’t attain my goals!
You two keep it real, interesting, informative, & practical! Definitely will be listening to more of your podcasts.
