More than just Sci-Fi

I found this wonderful podcast while searching for more information on Asimov’s Foundation series. I became a fan of the Apple TV adaptation of the series and was intrigued to know more about the source material, and how the show differs from the original book. This podcast not only provides an excellent synopsis of the book, but also engages the listener in a thoughtful conversation about ancient civilizations, while providing revealing insights about Asimov’s perspective of world at the time of Foundation’s publication. The host & guest are very knowledgeable, have a natural chemistry, and are endlessly entertaining. I cannot recommend this podcast enough! I don’t understand why there aren’t more reviews.
Rome versus a Greece - why one was an empire the other was not
11/15/2021
Greece was not an empire. Rome was. Why? Because one ended with no replacement for over a 1000 years. That’s because it was so big there was no replacement. The other just went away and was replaced by a competitor, Rome.
