ATS.io Sports Betting Radio Podcast - May 17, 2021
Host Adam Burke was back on the mic in a creative way with some bad wifi as an annoyance, but a hurdle to leap over on a Monday. He had a lot to discuss on this edition of The Bettor’s Box, starting with what we’ve seen offensively in the month of May and a discussion about the sustainability of those numbers. Adam then looked at small sample size stats and whether or not they are worth using in a handicapping context, like what teams have done over the last seven or 14 days.
After that discussion and a talk about Game Score, the sabermetric stat of the show, Adam did an overview on the recent line moves that we’ve seen and previewed four series for the week ahead with thoughts on White Sox vs. Twins, Tigers vs. Mariners, Astros vs. Athletics, and Red Sox vs. Blue Jays.

Host Adam Burke has often been put between a rock and a hard place in terms of betting the 1st 5 or the full game. On today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box, he talked through what goes into the process of making that decision, both from a side and total standpoint. Adam looked at some situations where that could be relevant today as examples.
Then he took a look at some pitchers that have either had good luck or bad luck based on their velocity numbers as we look for some pitchers to fade and some to follow. After that, he talked about the Saber Stats, yes plural, of the show, surveyed some recent line moves, and gave a pick for Thursday night. Finally, Adam previewed a few series for the weekend ahead, with Indians/Mariners, Mets/Rays, and Cardinals/Padres.

They discussed the end of the regular season and the push for seeding briefly, but mostly focused on the playoff pairings that we know and those that we expect to have.
After a deep dive into the hockey playoffs, Adam and Brian checked in on the PGA Tour stop at TPC Craig Ranch for the AT&T Byron Nelson and Brian also hit on a couple of European Tour plays. Horsepower ended the show with early thoughts on the Preakness Stakes and also the Drydene 400, this week’s NASCAR race at Dover.

Host Adam Burke has noticed that offense has ticked up quite a bit in the month of May. On this edition of The Bettor’s Box, he looked to explain why. After digging into the May numbers, he had some things to pass along to MLB bettors and also talked about whether or not these things will continue as the month goes along.
After that, Adam looked at how teams have done on their hard contact to put together a few teams that should fare better offensively and those that may end up struggling a bit as we go forward. A look at recent line moves and a pick for Monday night became a segue into a preview of the week ahead, including some pitchers to bet on or bet against and previews of Yankees vs. Rays, A’s vs. Red Sox, Twins vs. White Sox, and Marlins vs. Diamondbacks.
ATS.io Sports Betting Radio Podcast - May 6, 2021
Host Adam Burke has had to reinvent himself as a baseball handicapper in light of this season’s developments. He’s spent the last few shows putting together a comprehensive profile of how the baseball has changed and the adjustments that need to be made. On this edition of The Bettor’s Box, Adam talked about high-velocity contact and why what has transpired has created a higher-variance environment that benefits bad teams and bad pitchers. He looked at a few teams that have been helped and hurt by this new baseball and about their prognoses going forward.
After a look at some defensive metrics and the reasons why they may need to be more of a factor in your handicapping, Adam recapped the line moves that we’ve seen this week, gave out a pick for Thursday night, and previewed the weekend ahead with thoughts on Mariners vs. Rangers, Dodgers vs. Angels, Nationals vs. Yankees, Padres vs. Giants, and Phillies vs. Braves.

Host Adam Burke and guest Brian Blessing always have a lot to talk about and that was true today as the guys got together on ATS Radio to discuss the end of the NHL regular season, golf, and horse racing. The NHL has a lot of things going on right now, as teams are jockeying for playoff spots and seeding and other teams are finishing out what’s left of the year. Adam and Brian talked about some of the situational spots and other betting angles to consider at this time of the year.
The Wells Fargo Championship has a strong field on a great golf course on the outskirts of Charlotte at Quail Hollow Club. Adam and Brian shared their picks and some of the types of players that you want to look at with the characteristics of this course and some of the past winners that have done well. Lastly, they recapped the Kentucky Derby and talked about some early bets and thoughts for the Preakness Stakes coming up on May 15 at Pimlico Race Course.
be a better bettor
a valuable resource to stay on top of things.
Brian Blessings is a fantastic guest. Look forward to his NHL picks.
Great show, but...
Great show, Adam Burke is amazing. For future reference, keep Brian Blessing off the podcast. His stance on analytics truly doesn’t align with the viewpoints of the majority of sports bettors. He’s a classic boomer with a close minded perspective to say the least.
Great betting information
I listen to this podcast everyday throughout football season. Provides tons of actionable knowledge.
