It's been almost two years since I arrived in Peru.
I had to come here, to Peru.
But because my financial situation was critical,
I had to walk for 23 days. I walked and I hitchhiked to get here.
We come from one country and move to another.
We have different cultures. There will always be a clash between cultures.
There will always be xenophobia. There's going to be that kind of thing.
Obviously, it's because we're new and the population doesn't know us.
The dialect is very different. We speak Spanish,
but we don't have the same dialects.
There are words that mean one thing here
and another thing back home.
So, at the beginning, it's not easy.
I've been very fortunate to have set up a
beauty salon where I live, in the community.
And the beauty salon benefits the community,
which is in my house.
At first it was difficult. But now I feel like I'm home.
The expectations I had were exceeded.
